Our clients and audience in general often mentions they almost wish they could go back to being ignorant of home performance. It would certainly make spending time in a flipped house like this easier on the mind, if not the lungs.

Reminds me of my house. Nobody before cared about the HVAC system and therefore we have a moldy duct problem. I’m having it at all replaced in the fall and I’m very excited. Install was bad too because track built so cheap and fast. People don’t understand that these systems don’t just exist and need maintenance, none of which is complex.

I think people should have to pass a test too, just so only they know what they’re getting themselves into. I didn’t know about all the maintenance that goes with house ownership. Filters, dryer vents, cleaning out roof gutters, plumbing maintenance, ect. My landlord use to do it all for me.

Holy 😮😮😮 crap! That's disgusting. I don't understand how owners replace filters in situations like that and don't immediately get a shop vac and clean that whole thing out 🤦

Good grief, that should go for landlords too. The shit I vacuumed out of my vents and the condition of our 50 year old furnace is actually horrifying. You can not even buy filters for our furnace anymore, they are the old metal mesh ones like an oven hood fan.

I've seen that before, when people use a cheap $4 air filter or just take the air filter out all together. It really bothers me and is very short sided, especially when cleaning blocked ducts costs so much.

Why we have regulations. People do not care - especially corporations. If they can get away with it they will.

That is absolutely disgusting. I mean I would leave immediately. There's no way. And if that's what it looks like past the filter, can you imagine what it looks like throughout all the vents in the house. Absolutely disgusting

I totally agree with you! There was once i stayed in a hotel, it was a wall mount aircon, the dust was all over the flap, the cover, and the air intake! Really turn me off!

🤢🤮🤮🤮! Believe me, I do the same thing! 😅 If the air feels or smells a little funky, I check the filter. And if it looks like that, I’m changing it! 💯💯💯

Dude - if you keep exposing problems like this, sooner or later they’re going to stop letting you rent from them. I mean, you’re doing all the rest of us a great favor by exposing these things, but you’re also taking a risk as well. So, be careful out there!

You are wrong about people that should be able to buy a house. It's not your business about what an individual buying a house is doing with it. That said, you can stay anywhere you want to choose with your family according to your own values. Corporations though, shouldn't be buying homes. They are keeping people from being able to purchase homes for their own families.

I agree with you but if someone is buying a home just to make money and not live in it themselves, they should have to pass a test. I've dealt with so many slumlords. Mold and leaking etc, they don't care because someone else is breathing it in. If someone chooses to do that to their own home that's affecting only their health, that's fine, but other less fortunate people shouldn't have to because they can't afford to buy their own home.

Not sure your issue with a flip house. You rather it sit empty and fall down, bringing all property values down? Your issue is with shoddy maintenance of short term rental units. But let’s be honest you aren’t checking that on your stay at Hilton.

‘Flippers’ are by definition doing the quickest and cheapest lipstick job. It’s not a renovated house, it’s a flipped one. Could have made this a much longer video showing you all the other shoddy work but I got bored.

Yes let's bring all the values up, the government needs extra property taxes. I say double that property tax. 🙌
@dosadoodle

@@rebeccaspratling2865 I'm not sure why such an exaggeration feels necessary to say "double that property tax". Realistically, it is maybe a few percent, if the assessor can even identify what are largely hidden improvements. Meanwhile, homes with serious issues like these increase our healthcare costs due to increased asthma and other chronic health issues.
