Mendong has truly expanded. I guess that comes with population growth too. I remember some 20 plus years ago when Mendong was all bush and the only homes in Mendong were sic houses. It really looks nice and you did a great job documenting all this.

You seem like a sweet soul. I hope you find your dream house soon. I had to face the same struggle house-hunting in Douala. The struggle is real; I feel you. The first thing i look out for in a house is how airy it is. I just can't deal with air tight spaces. What i can advise is that given you are in no mad rush, take your time & you'd find something you'd love longterm. Don't "settle", or else you may be looking for house again the next year. Ensure the house has no issues with molds in the rainy season: leakages, floods. How consistent the water & electricity supply is, the security of the environs & how accessible the house is to the rest of civilization😅 If possible even try finding out why the previous owner of a certain house left the house. More grace dear. You will sure find💪

Houses around mendong are kinda cheaper compared to other quartiers. Damas is a no go zone cos of water crisis unless you're lucky to get a house that has their own forage. Check Etoug Ebe neighbourhood. That's my area
