I listened to part of this on another channel, and it was all scratchy sounding with no fidelity. These restored episodes have been around for some time now. There's no reason the other guys can't upload better quality, even if they use my uploads.

My 70th Suspense episode! What a knockout! Right up there with "On a Country Road" as one of those episodes that nearly had me in tears of fright. Now, I'm not one to get scared easily, but that noise . . . that unearthly howl . . . that would be enough to scare the dead out of their graves!

Thank you for having this right here to access at my convenience. I really appreciate that. I remember hearing this episode for the first time in the fall of 2022. On a very recent long drive, "The House in Cypress Canyon" was broadcast Sirius-XM's Radio Classics so I was treated to it once again just out of the blue. There's a singular aspect to it that makes it just right for nighttime listening just prior to Halloween. I gave myself a pat on the back for recognizing Robert Taylor's voice the first time I'd heard this. Howard Duff, Cathy Lewis and Hans Conreid I knew too from their many OTR appearances. It's interesting also that Hans Conreid is really toned-down in this performance.

This thing scared the bejeepers out of me the first time I heard it. I was 17 and we were camping with the cousins. My cousin had this on a cassette and we played it on a little cassette player he had and listened to it around the campfire. So we were spooked already. And then, the most blood curdling thing occurred. At some point in the night my mother, who was sleeping in the tent close by, had a nightmare and screamed in the night. There were 4 kids with eyes bugging out and soiled underwear running blindly through the campground after that. Ah... such fond memories...

Really enjoy Cathy Lewis. Always have. Although I truly love all the Suspense episodes, this is, for me, the most memorable one. It is so very well done and is the only one that ever, I won’t say scared me because real men don’t get scared 😊, but it did send a battalion of goose bumps scurrying up the Ho Chi Minh Trail and had the hair standing up on my neck, no lie. It was just those few seconds in the play, and you know which ones I’m talking about. Truly and incredibly unsettling, coming so unexpectedly as they did. As often as I’ve had a listen, not all that often, actually, those few moments never grow old. You’ve put a huge amount of work into these shows what with placing them in specific categories and uploading them. You’re one of the unsung heroes in these troubled times.

Great line: "If that isn't a commentary on the housing crisis... a woman moving into a house without knowing where all the closets are". That is too funny. "There was an uneasiness between us that had never been there before". Very evocative.

Jus Me You like her? Ya want me to point her out when she's in an episode? I can note her in descriptions if you want. (You probably know this, but she was a "regular" on Suspense, and like Joseph Kearns she was in a couple of hundred episodes) Thanks for your notes - is that you in the picture? My image probably wont be up soon . . . cause this is RADIO don't ya know?! (If I could ever afford an audio interface for my computer, I WILL do voice-overs) As always, thanks for your notes
