Wilson always sacrificed everything for House, never really being rewarded for it, and then, in the end, House, knowing that there was no other way, sacrificed everything, his entire existence, to spend the rest of of Wilson's life with him. I don't think there can be any grander gesture than this. Proving that Wilson really was the most important person in House's life.
