Scazuza Cuddy sadly agreed the house of second part of season 7 and 8 it's not the same of the earlier seasons, it was a betrayal to that wonderful character who is House. In the latter episodes of season 8 was fixed but the really twisted the character in latter the seasons. Actually well they started to twist the character in season 5. Its like the series had three different characters named House. One from season 1-4 a very rational House with great boundaries who could get pretty angry but at the end he cared to do the right thing and control of his dependence on Vicodin and in his madness was careful. The second from 5-first half of season 7 a little more irresponsible and his boundaries were expanded but still a flawed hero. Second half from season-8 it's when the Anti Hero House appeared and shot his emotions almost completely but opened them a little again during Wilson's cancer.
