How to did you do the first part ? Did press shift while drawing with the pencil ?

No. you don't need to press Shift. Once the pencil is selected, you can make multiple connected lines after clicking. It will only go out of the command once you hit escape.

thank you so much. just a question, how do you connect the glass railings to the wooden slats on the balcony? in real life construction

First, the wooden slats are attached to the balcony frame and screws are used to secure the slats. Then the glass panels area inserted into the bottom rail. It's a must to ensure that all glass panels, handrails, and bottom rail sections are level and all screws are tightened.
