i don’t think Eric found out about the UV light yet but even when the UV light was used at the end I think it was just pure desperation, he wouldn’t know that it could make the parasite come out like that (but I could be wrong idk)😂

Yeah that sucks. I also really liked her. I was so certain that you could save her with Joey's medkit, or that you would at least get a "Joshy" cutscene of her still alive down in the undergrounds in the scenario where you get to fight her by the end and she falls down the chasm. Maybe she'll come back in a future game before the events of House of Ashes, just like this game did with the Little Hope reference.

@@semperfi2314 Clarice’s character model is the same one as Taylor in little hope, Dar has the same character model as John & Eric has the same model as the cop from the beginning of the game in little hope. The developers did mention that they where inspired by American horror story reusing the same actors as different characters each game so it could just be a coincidence but we know for sure now that they’re connected

@@raphaelr.5904 unfortunately they don’t :/ she’s not savable she dies no matter what you can keep her alive until she ends up turning but she’ll attack & possibly kill one of your characters. They don’t figure out the UV light cures the infection until she’s already dead or turned. Which makes it even worse because if they would have know about the the cure they could have saved her when they all link back up in the temple.

That's the thing, Clarice is a character you simply cannot save. And the lesson is to know when its too late. Clarice tries to give you plenty of outs to avoid this fate. Arguably, killing Clarice as a mercy is better than clinging onto a hope that only brings more suffering and the death of a teammate (Eric). Everyone knows that Clarice is a goner, and Rachel's vain hopes to save her ends in misery. Regardless of outcome, she will die and you risk losing people depending on how long you hold on. I think the best choices for Clarice is either: A: You get her out of the chasm and mercy kill her. B: Be distant enough where Clarice forces you to abandon her. So she comes to terms with her fate.

@@nitishk9 They didn't know about it at the point that Clarice is with the party. By the time they find that information, she's already turned, meaning that even if they tried, they'd just be left with a parasite crawling out of her corpse.

If Rachel gets injured and messes up swinging over the chasm, then the rope will come lose and Clarice falls down. And I think there is another way, where if Rachel fires that giant mounted gun thingy & messes up escaping from it, then Clarice can sacrifice herself for her.

Spoilers Altho if marwin survives till the radio scene and the air support was called at the beginning then you can actually call them so they help at the very end during the eclipse, which btw means that salim gets captured by the americans instead of going see his son directly: that isn't a low impact so clarice isn't the only sub character that is kinda important :p

I would say my ending was better. It was just him and Jason that survived and learned that they aren't so different. Like a poetic ending based on the two intro characters. Jason had the most growth as a character. Salim got to go home to his son before Jason got picked up to explain what happened...oh and Rachel actually survived too! Even in the attack in the main room, when rachel gets grabbed by the vampire, clarice would save her from infection.

I played on pc, on medium difficulty. I accidentally failed all mashing button QTEs as they don't blink red like others and didn’t realise it till the end of the game. I found some unique character deaths. In beginning of the video, during crossing with grapple, if Rachel fails the QTE, the grapple will get loose but no one except player will notice. So if Clarice try to pass she will fall off the rope and die. She will reappear after Semper Fi chapter.

Unfortunately, depending on your choices, the team doesn't figure that out until saving Rachel from the parasite. It's not even thought of until last second (Eric needs to survive, meaning Clarice needs to be mercy killed.)

If you either abandon her _or_ bring her along and refuse to shoot her, she'll come back either before the characters ascend from the space ship crash site or during the final climb to the surface, but her attacks aren't guaranteed deaths. Unless you were talking about Dar, who never makes it out alive regardless of your choices.

I loved the game, but there are some minor things that if they had been given a little more thought could make the experience 100% better. For example: I feel they should've shown effects of the parasite slowly eating their brain, they kill you from the inside to take over you but it never really says how they kill you, and because of how the transformation looks the parasite should be located in the head. Making a fair assumption to think they eat your brain to make place for themselves on top of killing the host, then taking it over in a perfect place to grow the fangs and horns they show. Making Clarice give signs like body malfunctions or forgetting things slowly as she gets killed by the parasite would make it really fucking creepy once the reveal of how they turn is presented. Like she is literally being eaten inside her skull slowly. Instead, we got a very vague screeching noice that means nothing, and they show no signs other than gray skin(?) of what the fk they are dying of, plus the parasite got removed off Rachel and she was fine (other than the blood from passing that shit through her mouth) so HOW was it even killing her?

She’s literally grabbing at her head while screaming in pain. She’s basically an NPC, you want what’s as already shown and then some for a character that’s basically a meat sack like Merwin. Y’all have the most wild expectations for something that’s already leaps beyond. You wanted some kind of House MD X-ray moment where you can see it? Which kills the mystery of the vampires. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ See y’all complaining literally ruins the story. Like you wanna rip out all the mysterious elements and be spoonfed.

@@mellysomethingclever you can writhe in pain from a fever. Guess what, a fever isnt a parasite the size of your head, thats killing you from inside. Nobody is asking for anything close to perfection, the game is short, the only thing you can ask of it is to do good what it does in that short time. If you want "mystery" in your game, you wouldnt show symtoms at all, you wouldnt even explain what these parasites do. But they did, so what im complaining about is that they took a specific path of storytelling and fucked some details up. If you have zero fucking idea about lore writing, or game design, which you clearly do, the very least you could do is not nag at people who make a simple constructive critique.

I stated that she isn’t a playable character why the fuck would they waste so much animation especially since there’s an option to just leave her? Have some common fucking sense bro damn. If you knew anything about story or game design you’d understand that the core story is to focus around the core characters which she is not. That means certain things need to happen in order to push the plot forward. Her turning is gonna happen. There’s only so many ways to show her changing while our characters are still unaware of what’s happening. It’s called CHARACTER PERSPECTIVE. So of course it’s going to seem like just writhing in pain from a fever (tho you’re completely ignoring her grabbing her head and the high pitched screech which isn’t her it’s the parasite in her brain.) but as someone with no writing experience I wouldn’t expect you to understand the rule show don’t tell. Since you need to be spoonfed. Someone never took a creative writing class in their life but wants to spout like they did. How many games you develop? Books you write? There’s two versions . The curator cut and the normal cut . You play as opposite characters from the first one . It came with my pre ordered copy via gamestop

@@jimmythefish796 It’s actually nothing to do with the curators cut, Basically whichever one dies last, Balathu or Kurum, will be the one to come back to life, In the theatrical cut if you want Kurum to be last you must choose the betray option instead of “Fight together” if you want balathu to be last you must choose to fight together and then fail the skill check that comes after it. Hope this helps

If you failed the QTE as Rachel during the swing then the rope will become unstable, so passing it off to Clarice will result in her death because the rope came loose. If you didn't fail the QTE then I'm not sure of what may be causing her to die. Maybe wrong dialogue choices?
