Claire (granted yes, I’m comparing the fictional to real life) is also infinitely subtler, more calculating and more terrifying than HRC, who it’s said she was patterned on. Although Claire v. Hillary would be an historical battle of wills and wits.

The character of Claire had potential to carry the show. She was just as ruthless and cunning as Frank. Had Beau Willimon not stepped down as show runner after season 4, I believe HoC could have went to 10-12 seasons with Claire carrying the show. The storylines that could have been explored….much that relates to our real world. Season 6 was a sorry ass ending to an incredible political drama of the ages.

What Claire is doing here is pure evil. Just the same, I never liked Gillian. She tried to override Claire’s decision on the film crew from Sandcorp, so Claire fired her. Gillian’s vanity and ego couldn’t stand it so she started with her lawsuit crap.

AJBfc Yes, but something makes me think she will be even more ruthless next season. Probably to Frank. I felt this season writers tried to give more humanity to all characters, show us they are not so cold-hearted. Then, in the last two episodes they showed us this characters can also turn into the monsters we know. I have this feeling Claire started plotting something the last season. Something changed for her. She will probably run against Frank or be his downfall.

+VA PB I saw a teaser for season 4 that alludes to Zoe Barnes murder in season 2. I think Claire is going to have a big hand in whatever unraveling happens to Frank in season 4. Everyone is saying they're too dangerous and made specifically for one another to turn against each other. I disagree. I think Claire will bring about Frank's demise in the end. When she said "I'm leaving you" to Frank, she said it with brute finality...most viewers didn't even sense that.

Claire Hale Underwood is a fictional character in House of Cards, played by Robin Wright. She is the wife of the show's protagonist Francis J. "Frank" Underwood. She is a lobbyist and runs an environmental nonprofit organization, but in later seasons ascends to the position of Second Lady of the United States, and finally First Lady of the United States and the United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Underwood made her first appearance in the series' pilot episode, "Chapter 1". The character is based on Elizabeth Urquhart, a character from the British miniseries from which the current series is derived. Unlike the original character, however, Claire has her own storylines. The role has been critically acclaimed. Wright won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Drama for this role at the 71st Golden Globe Awards, becoming the first actress to win a Golden Globe Award for a web television online-only role in a series. She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for this role at the 65th, 66th and 67th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Sam S This chick came in with her high minded ideals with no real world strategy to get anything done. And then she bitched and moaned while Claire worked her ass off getting the things they needed cause she dislikes working with the evil corporations but have no connects of her own that could get the work done. She is working with a political person knowing in advance that politics is more important to Claire than ideals but she throws a pointless hissy fit anyway. I don't like Claire at all but its hard to take that hypocrite serious.
@sams5177 жыл бұрын
Ok I took a break from this show after winter 2015 and I haven't watched since so I don't really remember much now lmao. But it seemed like a part of it was personal spite because if I remember correctly she wants kids really badly, but Frank says he doesn't do she feels bad she can't have her own kid??
@sams5177 жыл бұрын
And maybe she genuinely thought Claire would know where to draw the line with a pregnant woman, idk. Children are something else.
@shihoblade7 жыл бұрын
Sam S Claire doesn't want kids. I don't recall her ever even hinting that she wanted some. Even her simple life fantasy with that painter dude doesn't include kids. Frank doesn't want them either but he isn't alone there And it's not about personal spite. That chick went out her way to stop the things Claire wanted to get done. In a sense she went after Claire's 'baby'. She isn't a victim, she is an attacker. Claire did everything she could to settle this nonsense peacefully and skinny chick just spit on her face and tried to make a political message out of the situation. She backed Claire up against the wall so I don't sympathize with her.
@sams5177 жыл бұрын
Wait backed her up against a wall? What?? To me it seemed like Claire's stance on kids was never clearly stated like Frank. Frank straight up hates them, doesn't care for them and doesn't want them. But Claire basically can't have them whether she wants to or not cuz she can't count on Frank to be their father. I totally forgot she had a lot of abortions until I googled her character, and I know one of them was cuz someone supposedly raped her. What were the reasons behind the other two?
@aliadeeb68598 ай бұрын
Is there any reason she couldn't just sue her after the fact? What about getting more insurance? This was during the Obama years when supposedly you couldn't be denied for having a pre-existing condition. What about taking out a loan for a few months worth of medication? Are there any men in this woman's life? Don't they have any money? This medication that a fetus needs to continue existing probably doesn't exist itself but for the sake of the storyline let's say it's experimental. Even in that case it wouldn't be covered under insurance anyway.
