DCI is nice enough, but this real technical and first class drumming...DCI is rubba dub dub show boating by comparison...don't try to sell DCI as this all the percussion we need ;-)

Dci is so much more complex dont get me wrong I love pipe drumming but dci players can play what they play very easily and pipe drumming do alot more challenging stunts at well. Pipe drummers can march but not at the level as dci. I love them both but I like dci more. Plus dci doesn't show off much in drumming they dont really do stick tricks or all of that stuff. But I still very appreciate what pipe drumming do they are very good but not as good as dci

And dci is the most professional as it can get. Hell they take 3 months of your life for dci while pipe drumming you go to team meetings after work or you meet up at someone's house. Dci they take you around the world.

Gabriel {BYOS} coming from a pipe band but also watching a lot of dci I’m gonna have to disagree. I do agree the level of marching and coordination with dci is greater but when it comes to playing they are two completely different styles with different technique and way of going about it. I know dci music can be hard but I know pipe band drumming can be just as hard. And with the showing and level of practise that goes in, this is a drum fanfare so their gonna show off but when it comes to practise pipe bands start in September for the summer competitions and idk but my band has weekend long rehearsals every month and weekly practise and then some and we arnt even close to the top level that some of the best bands are at so idk just a lil insight about pipe bands. Also love dci cause of how I’m sinc and theatrical everything it really is something to watch but the level the top pipe band drummers play is something crazy and I know top notch on both sides very different and cool styles of drumming 👍🏼

why do pipe band snare drums sound different than marching band snare drums? and how?

pipe band drums have metal snares on both heads, whereas marching drums have plastic snares on the bottom head only. Also, pipe band drums are tuned to a much higher pitch

These guys are great players, another Pipe band Drummer John Fisher taught Green days Drummers, Nickel backs Drummer , one of Elton johns Drummers and many other., A lot of corp type drummers do not realize how good these people are just because they play pipe band drums
