If I remember correctly, if you find a Canvas in a lost box you could use it at a Prospect to paint a portrait, though it might take some experimenting since I have only seen the option once in another person's playthrough.

I'm pretty sure that's not a thing that's in the base game. Maybe you've watched a modded run? Or someone playing on the beta branch?

@@UncleCarpsGamingCorner It wasn't a modded run, it was this guy's, Fantastic Worlds', first playthrough of the game, which is still on going. He found it by complete accident when he put canvas in one of the Prospects.

So, I checked the wiki for this and a canvas actually does exist in the game. Apparently you can only use it to make a petition for Numa to start though. I've heard some rumors that the possible next DLC would be more about painting or something, so maybe it's for that. I've actually also watched that Fantastic Worlds' let's play of BoH, but I stopped it at some point quite early on for some reason I don't remember anymore.

@@UncleCarpsGamingCorner It might be something new added with the House of Light dlc because there is some stuff you can do with portraits now, not spoiling what it is, but there was definitely a new option that popped up when he put the canvas in the Prospect, similar to how the shrines reveal a secret when you put in the right skill. As for Fantastic Worlds' let's play of the game, it was from one of the more recent episodes, though that could have been more than a month ago.
