I prefer James touring and recording with Jimi Bell. They've made HoL's best albums, IMHO. Sure Lanny was sort of in the "classic" lineup, and Doug Aldrich is one of my favorites, but Jimi Bell is the best match at this point.

This was a great night. HOL played in a very small club, Rockland in a Swedish town called SALA. Fun thing was James drank a bottle of wine on stage and got abit tipsy during the show but still did a great job. After the show the guys in the band joined the crowd and talked to the fans. Signing cd's, posters, t-shirts and talked to everyone. I've been to alot of concerts and many band doesn't give a shit about their fans. HOL did. Respect!

(this was in Copenhagen-Danmark and not in Sweden of course)

The show was great, but James fell from stage and hit the floor hard (pure accident....not drunk...anyway you could see he was in real pain...but finnished the show w/style after a 15-min break)...and as said i got to talk to them all, and this was the last show in europe before heading to Japan 2 days later to play a festival w/Anthrax,Megadeth++ all heavy/trash-metal bands and HOL :-) a weird bill...even James said so...but i guss the money was better than playing clubs for 100-200 people around europe (was sold 10 000 tix in Japan and it will be on DVD according to James. But in all fairnes i will say its more James "soloband" than HOL as there is only him left and i think todays bandmembers is only "hired guns", but as i said they played very good (but i was outside when they came, and met the band....well the hired guns" as they came alone...than James came later...and he had his own room backstage and the 3 others was in another room...so like i said i think its more like a James Christian solo-band...but HOL sells more tix....anyway they put out a string of albums the last 15 yr or so....but you have to go back to Demons Down w/original members to find that magic.....don`t get me wrong..they are very good today, BUT there is no Gregg Giuffria..no Ken Mary...no Chuck Wright etc if you know what i mean

It’s funny (or perhaps really sad) that when I google/youtube my favourite ‘super groups’ from my younger metal days they ALL seem to be playing in small pubs and clubs with shitty PA systems where you can hear people talking and ordering drinks in the background!! I kind of wish I’d never watched this, as although they’re still good, this is certainly not the immense metal super-group that I remember!
