What you missed there about the dragon egg that Daemon took was that it was the one Rhaenyra had picked out for her little baby brother to celebrate his birth. So it was a dragon egg specifically set aside for the next male heir to the throne. Daemon taking that egg is kind of a way of him staking his claim to the throne and saying that he should be the next heir. When Rhaenyra shows up and has the balls to face him down, he returns it to her without a fight because he admires the strength she is showing and how she is proving herself as a capable heir.

The discomfort is real lol. Sorry for laughing at your innocence guys, but incest with royals was actually a thing in real life (where George RR Martin got his inspiration from). Just look up the lineage of the English royalty and you'll see many many many people related to their spouses.

One thing to remember for you guys. HBO wanted to just begin with what ends up being episode 6 of this season. George RR Martin made sure the first 5 episodes with younger Alicent and Rhaenyra were included because it’s ESSENTIAL backstory to the coming war. I’m a massive fan of ASOIAF, but it was kind of a pick your poison situation when telling this story (the dance of the dragons) because, well….it’s history. Nothing exists in a vacuum! So you have to start somewhere and go through some slow/confusing parts. Especially when creating a show for a wider audience, particularly for newcomers like yourselves. I hope that in the future, the ASOIAF universe gets more projects to flesh out this universe, that way non-book audiences can have a better grasp for the context of everything. Much like how it’s fairly easy to understand the timeline of things in Star Wars since there’s various shows in different eras that interconnect in their own unique way. I think the right show in this world for you guys would be The Hedge Knight show, which is coming out in the near future. Much lower stakes, more quirks/humor, and slow pace.

House of the Dragon is part of British Equity, which is a completely different union than SAG/WGA. They were not part of the strike and the production was not impacted by it. Scripts were complete almost a year prior to filming and had gone through most necessary revisions before the strike started. Since the show fell outside of SAG/WGA jurisdiction, any actor who was also SAG was given special dispensation to continue filming the project. Also both of the showrunners were on set in a production capacity and while they couldn't make suggestions while on set, they could have easily taken notes and went back after the fact. Production for season 2 ended in September and there is plenty of time between then to have fixed things with reshoots and in post if need be.

I suspect it will still suffer from the strike though - watching bts from S1 made it clear a LOT of writing work happened on set. With the strike happening there would have been a lot less room to improvise solutions or new dialogue ideas if something wasn’t working great.

Martin's work, there's a reason why Game of Thrones revolutionized the television industry, it also started the KZbin reaction channels trend because certain episode (a spoiler i won'tspeak of), its also the reason why after GoT we have streaming services, why there's so many shows... after season 4 everything at Hollywood became a Game of Thrones-wannabe. Wasn't just royalty. Marrying at 14 to a 30 year old was commonplace even among the peasantry, especially if it meant increasing your station. My grandma was 17 or so when she married my 30 year old grandpa. He was considered well-established and a good match. If you consider women were largely intended to be stay-at-home moms for a lot of history - that often began as soon as you could be a mom.

Viserys should have agreed to marry little Laena on condition that the marriage would take place when she was 15 and not before. But I can understand why he chose Alicent - (A) he didn't want anyone else pushing a little girl-bride at him, (B) Viserys likes Alicent, he feels emotionally comfortable with her, he can talk to her, and he thinks she likes him, and perhaps he is somewhat attracted to her although he does not love her; at least she could ease his loneliness (B) Alicent is at least physically mature enough to have a good shot at surviving a pregnancy and delivering a healthy baby. But Viserys doesn't realize how grasping Otto is, and the potential consequences for Rhaenyra if Alicent delivers living sons, not to mention how hurt and angry Rhaenyra will be at his duplicity in not telling her about those "conversations" with Alicent.

@@queerlybelovdd The answer to critique isn't to say 'piss off' - it's to take the critique for what it is. It means people are invested in these reactions and the crew would get increased support by putting in a LITTLE more effort to learn the lore and try to catch the important details. In other words, there's a way to increase engagement with the reactions and make the crew more money which is the goal of a reaction channel. Do you not want them to make money doing their jobs? Telling people to not watch is telling Heroes Reforged to lose money. That's not being a good channel supporter. The people critiquing aren't saying they don't like Heroes Reforged nor are they saying they don't like HotD - they like both and want the crew of Heroes Reforged to put in the time/respect such a good show deserves and I'm sure they're confident it will pay off for Heroes Reforged since it is a good show - they'll like it even more and so will more of their audience. Is there racism in this world of course. The dornish, wildlings, mountain clans etc. But the velaryons arent it. They are blood of old valeryia and have married into the targayens many times. U literally see an example of that. If anything they would be looked at as better then most houses. There isnt 1 comment about their race that isnt positive. The friction comes from jockeying for power between corlys and otto. Corlys is ambitious and daemon is checking that. Yes daemon has issues with viserys but will not stand for traitous talk. Also keep in mind the political situation. Daemon married a girl he did not want in order to help his brother become king. The council that made him king passed over a daughter for a male heir. So based on that he is heir. Lastly viserys has no dragon and rhaeneryas dragon hatched when she was young and not big enough to fight until recently. Daemons dragon was the only thing gaurding his throne from corlys and rhenys. So yea daemon might be entitled but hes done more for his brother then anyone and is rightfully pissed about not being a trusted councilor. Otto creating a wedge between the brother severly weakens viserys.

Incest in Fantasy reading is a shock and a good story plot. Incest in real life fucking disgusting🤮... But remember, Every living person who was born into A royal family is an offspring of incest. ( King Charles and his Wife are cousins. Also, His Mother And father were close to 1st cousins by the way) So, some of the world just doesn't feel the same way about Incest as The U.S. does..... Love your work please continue to succeed

The great thing about rewatching these is seeing how everyone’s playing the game. The set up for future pieces to fall in place is ever so present and so sweet.

All the jokes about the names being ridiculous seems a bit weird to me... Most fantasy and Scifi has lots of ridiculous names, especially if you are not familiar with it. Anyone who hasn't seen Star Wars, Star Trek or Lotr could have the same reaction.

I was excited to watch your reactions to this show. But I can’t continue. Instead of coming into this show and giving it a chance, you instead already showed you don’t like the show and not giving it chance. You’re clearly just watching it for views. Y’all spend the entire time just being sarcastic, it’s like you’re trying to prove to viewers that you never watched GOT fully and want to show that you guys aren’t super fans. You keep bringing up GOT for some reason when you haven’t even watched it fully. This is so disappointing.

you guys don't really know the history of Europe and the history of the UK especially that GOT is based on.

@@HeroesReforged haha awesome! I understand your points btw. George RR Martin writing about kings marrying childs is just something that used to happen, is super strange seeing now, but is just something that used to happen. I have to admit that the incest part between the Targaryen's is stranger but in the books is more justifiable seeing that is almost like something genetic that there is in there blood that permits them to bond with dragons and that is why they do it

Well, GRRM borrowed much for this story and GoT from medieval Europe and the ancient Near East. In those societies, sibling (mostly within royals in the ancient Near East) or cousin marriages m occurred among elites. It wasn’t something that regular folks approved of, but the high elites did it anyway. Even in fairly recent European history, marriages among cousins was a thing. Also, it was fairly common, especially among elites for political purposes, to wed ridiculously young girls to older powerful men. Again, it wasn’t necessarily popular among common folk, but the elites did for politics. Just wanted to note that GRRM didn’t make these things up. They occurred during those periods.

Holiii soy Mely de Argentina, les comento que Dondarrion es un personaje crucial en GOT ya q además de haber muerto y revivido varias veces es el que le salva l vida a Arya cumpliendo así el objetivo q le había dado el Señor del Fuego 🔥
