Aegon seems more like an immature guy not a monster. His reaction to his sons death showed he cared a lot for him, and in episode one he actively spends time with him and clearly loves him. This is not how Aegon was treated by his parents. Even other characters refer to Jaeherys as 'the child', 'the boy' and Rhaenyra calls him an 'it' when argueing with Daemon. Aegon is the only one that calls him his son (Helaena doesnt say it and grandmother and great granddad dont refer to him as their grandson, just the kid). I exclude Helaena from the how she refers to her son as she is autistic. But his reaction is not something Joffrey would do.

@@НикитаСимонян-ж5е Probably because Daemon has a "bad boy" charisma. It's not rational, it's psychological. (*) Though Aegon, without excusing his screw up nature and sexual predator urges, is still more likeable and braver than Joffrey (whom I can't imagine holding his bravado for more than 15 secondswere he involved in real action, on dragonback or not), Daemon looks more "manly". (*) A personal example : when I was a teenager (not long ago, I'm 24 now), I felt for Vladimir Putin's badass memes because I didn't know much about modern Russia until the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. I had heard about the civilians death toll of airstrikes in Syria, rumors of killing journalists and faking elections, but at most I half-believed it partly because I had a good image of Russia people and culture (I honestly thought it was better now just because the Soviet ideology was gone), partly because I saw Putin as a more charismatic, unbending and stronger-fisted man that our pathetic leaders in the West who cow before terrorism, and partly because at an age where our critical mind develop, we sense how the mainstream media can be untrustworthy on so many issues, so it becomes harder to take their word for it on topics you're less familiar with. Am I the only one that thinks that the greens are much more interesting characters than the blacks? Like, don’t get me wrong, they aren’t any morally better, but people who prefer Team Black tend to only like Rhaenyra and Daemon, while they could care less of the Velaryons or the others. Even then, Rhaenyra and Daemon are “easy-to-understand” characters to me, hence I don’t feel allured by them. In season 1, characters like Otto, Alicent and Aemond won me over. Now in season 2, I grow to care for Helaena’s innocence and Aegon, even though I know Aegon is a lazy lout, his redeeming qualities are being playful with his kids and being genuinely willing to aid his people despite understanding what it would cost his house. I don’t know, the complexity of Team Green is a big part that keeps me interested in the show.

No, I think so too. To be honest the only character I like in the blacks is daemon. I actually like Corlies and Raneys a lot more than Rhaenyra.
@Marco_______6 ай бұрын
Yeah I totally agree. We know next to nothing about many of the Black’s characters. Baela, Rhaena and little Jeoffry might as well be background characters. I mean Jeoffry makes sense but literally the only interesting think we know about Daemon’s daughters is that one longs for a dragon and acceptance from her father. Nothing else. Even Jace. He’s charming and handsome but we literally know nothing about his personality. His characterisation is nothing compared to Aemond, Aegon and Helaena.

The only difference between the greens and the blacks is that Alicents kids are more unhinged than Rhaenyra's, so they get more screen time. Alicents kids are more interesting to watch than Rhaenyra's, but I can't really say the same for the rest of the characters. Otto and Alicent just aren't very important characters anymore, they won't do very much for the rest of the show.

making him trying to be better and likable - even if not to his family then at least to the smallfolk and also to the audience in general - is such a great narrative move. it makes the whole Blacks vs Greens things all the more nuanced, there is no singular evil in the two factions. and also... SPOILERS FROM BOOKS ...because we know when Rhaenerys _does_ at one point manage to win against the Greens and take back Kings Landing, establishing herself as queen. but by then the smallfolk love Aegon and Heleana, and as...events transpire, Rhaenerys loses Kings Landing not because of the Greens (directly) but because the smallfolk rise up against her and even manage to kill some of the dragons. i can already imagine how, in the show, perhaps Rhaenerys will _try_ to handle things in the way a good monarch ought to, but complications and consequences happen (and having a wild card for a husband probably doesn't help), and her having been away in Dragonstone for the better part of her adult life means the smallfolk don't see her the same way as Aegon putting on a show of a magnanimous king. so this whole...PR spin that the Greens are inadverdently doing even as Otto side-eyes Aegon for his impracticalities just makes me really excited for how the narrative will continue to transpire.
@reachinghigher42596 ай бұрын
In defense of the dragons, it wasn't entirely the smallfolk who killed them. If the dragons hadn't been chained in an underground pit - literally the opposite of where they should have been - there wouldn't have been a massive stone roof overhead for one of them to crash into and bring the whole thing down to crush them.

Phia said she does see a lot of similarities between Cassandra and Helaena, she said that no matter how much she tries to warn people about the bad things about to happen, no one ever believes her and just take her for a crazy woman

@@luzcalderon7808 Phia also said that she didn't believe Haelean had some sort of prophetic power, more of a heightened intuition. I also bet that she didn't use outdated word "crazy" 🙄

Doesn't her whisper sound much more like "the only one looking...." maybe 'mouse' afterwards? No one really knows what she is whispering bc HBO didnt add subtitles for it but I dont think it sounds like "they only want the boy". Any guesses?

I don’t think Aegon was a good father to his children (l don’t blame him Because how Viserys and Alicent peer pressured him and I know he is trying his best to make it up to them now when Viserys never treated him with an ounce of affection. Even though he may have left all parenting to Heleana.. I feel bad for her when she falls into grievances and madness)
