"everything you feel for me…as your queen." I can't handle that level of palpable sexual tension lol. Ironic cause in a way they are the cersei and jaime of this show lol. the last 3 mins aside,i thought this was an excellent episode. it felt like a white house political thriller with a "race against time" feel from start to finish suspense. When Otto was moving the chess pieces, Beesbury yelling..I was on the edge of my seat. I knew how good it was when it had reactors already coping for compeuppance lol. Tom Glynn-Carney showed excellent range as Aegon. But it got overshadowed by 3 mins of a Rhaenys "happy ending" lol. The crowning ceremony was a visual historygasm, finally befitting a king in got verse. The actors for Otto, Alicent, Aegon did great jobs. And that "window in the wall of your prison" was an all time line.

Rhaenys hasn't read Fire & Blood to know of horrors to come. So her pre-emptively nuking half her own family would've been OP. Having said that, the Rhaenys bit was to give audience a 'send home happy' moment which wasn't necessary. The coronation was fantastic in itself. But gawd forbid the ''bad guys' are on top in one episode. Those who think lowborns of KL have any obligation to support Rhaenyra are in for big disappointments. Aegon claims his birthright from popular King Jaehaerys' Great Council stating king's firstborn male son is next king. Viserys himself won it over Rhaenys like that. Best part of this was the politics, less dragons the better. Despairing mom version of alicent does highlight her humanity more than the colder iteration of the actual green council. A well needed adjustment imo but also a continuation of her Harrenhall or knife scene mistake. They've constantly shown subtleties in her character which audience wilfully ignores since we're watching this as a team sport and gotta cheer team lovable manipulative dad. Her being more humanized shouldn't be an issue unless one wants the show to remain grotesquely tilted towards Black (Laenor death,Rhae-Vaemond)

Rhaenys Can't just call her dragon because it's in the pit chained up.... And the dragon keepers have it so she's going to have to go to it, Daenerys is bond with drogon was quite different than the typical Targaryen bond with dragons because she laid in the fire with the eggs she had a magical bond with them that was different than all Targaryens bonds with dragons

That's just an ansumption and never stated in any way by anyone. Daenerys couldn't call Drogon either, they can only sense and feel what they riders do, but they cannot read minds. In House of the dragon, by the way, is this "bonding" way deeper shown as in Game of Thrones, since the dragon of Daemon felt the arrows, the Dragon of Rhaenyra her birth pain and the Dragon of Rhaenyras second born his fear of Aemond.

@@reynical3083 People are dumb. I root for Rhaenrya because she is not a self-righteous bitch, she is a flawed individual trying to juggle duty and love. And the whole Meagor with Teats is interesting as had the Greens not usurped the throne, had they not moved all the gold out of King's Landing, the people who welcomed Rhaenrya into King's Landing would not have been taxed so high, therefore they would not have eventually turned against her. Her situation is much more complicated than her simply becoming a mad queen. The show will make her much more understandable, as she is placed in impossible situations, trying to commit lesser of two evils, and suffering consequences regardless of her choices. On a side note, I think Helaena commits suicide due to her having a vision of the future regarding the fall of House Targaryen, perhaps the death of all her immediate family members.

@Ali Chaudhry people just can’t read nuances on screen, or maybe they can’t seperate their modern political views from a fantasy show. I just Stan the side I relate to more, but that does not entitle me to be blind to flaws in both sides of the divide. Everyone has flaws. It’s normal. It’s the wilful blindness and self-righteousness of rl people and fictional characters that bothers me. I can’t support Alicent as she does that which she blames Rhaenrya for doing. For flaunting the law, duty, etc. I’m pretty sure selling feet pics for information is borderline infidelity in Westeros, as it is obvious she was doing that well before Viserys died. Rhaenrya does some questionable things, to be sure, which highlights the duty vs love question. She tries to have both, but in Westeros it seems impossible.
