One of these guys just didn't get Rhaenyra at all. There's a valid reason why she couldn't start an all-out war. She didn't "make Daemon weak". She ain't showing weakness at all. Luke was Rhaenyra's BABY. She was always so affectionate with him since day one. We always see her holding his hands and tending to him, like she loved him sooo much. Rhaenyra's actress said it best, she lost her father and her lover and thought she knew what sorrow was like, but it's only when she lost Luke did she realize what true grief feels like. Luke's death not only pushed her over the edge, but it completely threw the rest of her morals out the window. If they go by the books, we're gonna see some nasty stuff from the Blacks

We see how Caraxes was angry because Daemon was angry… We see Arrax sensing Luke’s fear and acted out of protection for his rider… We see Aemond angry and vengeful and Vhagar attacking Luke because he sensed his rider’s deep desire… Emma D’Arcy said Rhaenyra’s true desire was to attack Otto on that bridge and we see Syrax railed up ready to attack (sensing and feeling her rider’s true desire) right before Rhaenyra said no… So i think it was to show how connected the dragons are to their riders… Also, when Daemon got shot with the arrow in episode 3, we saw Caraxes screamed in pain

I actually agreed with Rhaenyra. You can't just go to war and burn everything to the ground no matter how much your blood is pumping. You also can't just go to war without knowing who your allies are. She was thinking strategic. She even considered the terms given simply because she felt it was her duty as Queen to put the needs of her subjects before her own needs for revenge. What the people of the realm need is peace and stability. Peace brings wealth for a nations people. Y'all have to remember that though he may not have been the best King, the kingdom under Viserys was at the height of it's wealth. Westeros (especially Kings Landing) will never be that wealthy again. So I know a lot of people felt she was bugging but no war is won without some thought given and it made no sense to get the Iron throne back only to rule over ash and bone. Her caution was necessary though I also agree with Daemon's approach. Tbh now would have been the best time for Jace to step in and show what kind of ruler he would be by suggesting a compromise that would satisfy the requirements of both parties. Unfortunately Jace isn't used to going against his parents and contradicting them.

So I was very surprised when he rallied the others to "bend the knee" to Rhaenyra when she was handed the crown. This show would be better if the writing and the audience stop trying to portray Rheanyra as wise good protagonist when she’s not. Sending her sons was a show of how she’s gotten comfortable demanding and trying to strong arm to get what she wants. She’s never made a smart decision and is used to having everything handed to her. Rhaenyra is not stubborn, weak or dumb as she was characterized her. There’s more strength in restraint than emotional violence. She was his cupbearer for many years which gave her an education in leadership, diplomacy, policy and many other regal mores. She is the most suited to lead than anyone. She is the most balanced decision maker. Even Corlys recognized that.

I know people think Rhaenyra was dumb to send her sons as messengers but they were going personally on dragon back because it's more convincing to the people they are asking for help. The boys were envoys and you don't kill an envoy. It's against the rules of engagement. The fact that they were going as messengers only lent them protection from harm. Storms End was the closer destination and should have been the easier mission because the Barathion house shares blood with Targaryen. Rhaenys mother is from that house. So Rhaenyra believed no harm would come to her son if he went there. Lucerys is also not a child anymore by Westeros standards. He is 14, heir to Driftmark and betrothed already. Taking a message isn't beyond his capabilities. I will say that Rhaenyra misjudged Lord Borros as she should have sent Lucerys with an offer and favourable terms instead of an order to remind Borros about an oath made more than 20 years ago. Even so, they never predicted Aemond would be there. Otto claimed the Barathion's were already made offers of favourable terms, along with Stark, Aryan and Tully. Why would Aemond be there? It was impossible to know.

Well, it was a mistake but the reasoning is pretty simple, Lord Boremund Baratheon was one of the biggest supporters of Rhaenys during the Great Council (and for most of his life) so they just assumed that his son would be the same. Basically they were taking the Baratheons for granted

Rhaenyra wanted to solve the issue in a diplomatic way. She was hesitant because innocent common folks would suffer the consequences. And she wanted to know if the other Kingdoms still loyal to their oath because it can kick out Aegon II in the throne if majority supported her. She send her sons as an envoys because its faster with their dragons and envoys were protected by law. She didn't think that Aemond would go there in person.

Na fam that ain’t how it works, Aemond playing with a dragon got Arrax and Like killed. Arrax was frantic and scared, even he knew he couldn’t kill Vhagar. He was acting out of what he thought was self defense of him and his rider and ended up pissing Vhagar off. Vhagar then ate him at that point he was pissed and acting on his own.

If you go into war in general, you have to know the allies going to war with you so that you can use observantion in who they are and where their loyalties lie. That’s literally a real life strategy in terms of war. Rhaenyra is not wrong for doing that. They did this all the time in Games of Thrones. Also, you can’t just take all the dragons and go over and burn down your enemies to try and reclaim the throne. We’ve all seen Daenerys make the same tactical mistake, one y’all want Rhaenyra and Daemon to do, with Drogon and look what happened to Dany at the end. Rhaenyra sent the younger son to Storms End because she believed it was the shorter journey and also the least dangerous, this is why the eldest was instead sent on a longer journey to both the Vale and and the North.
