"The Queen who never was" is NOT an insult. Rhaenyse was promised to be wed to a Baratheon before she was married to Corlys Valaryon. The show doesn't really highlight it, but the Baratheons hold Rhaenyse in high honor.

Not sure if anyone has said this but the Castle at the beginning of the episode wasn't The Red Keep at Kings Landing but Castle Haren Hall. Haren Hall was melted by Dragon Fire during Aegon's Conquest. Also the model city Viserys was working when Alicennt walked in was A model of the Valyrian Free Hold. Valyria was the Country The Targarians and House Velaryan came from before the Doom Destroyed it.

The miniature that Viserys is working on is the capital city, can't think of its name, of Old Valyria. Otto Hightower the hand of the king, is from Oldtown, which is where the Citadel, where the maesters are trained is at. The Hightowers and the Velaryon's are powerful families at this time. The Velaryons, like the Targaryens are from Old Valria, they're a major seafaring people. Back to Otto, he's like a combination of Tywin Lannister, all about family, and Littlefinger, plans within plans, within plans.

The dagger Viserys is carrying was the same dagger used to try to kill Bran in season 1 and also used by Arya to kill the Night King.

Funny, Fire & Blood & everything we know about these stories might be the actual truth. But that’s not the way it’s written. Unlike ASOIAF it’s composed of accounts from written material, by different contemporary composers who often differ or contradict the motives & many actions of the subjects. Unlike before, where we knew what specific characters were thinking, we do not have this for Fire & Blood. The story told here I believe is supposed to be another version as well. As most history is I think GRRM is trying to say. We know the battles & major events unlike in the Age of Legends & we have dates, but accounts differ. So kind of it’s the opposite of what my man was saying at the beginning. I think it’s a great way to do it.

The actor who plays the captain of the Kingsguard is Graham McTavish, who played the dwarf Dwalin, one of Thorin's company in the Hobbit films. So if you've seen him before, he may have been wearing a bald cap, a dwarven beard, and facial prosthetics...

After a visit to Summerhall, apparently after reading some old scrolls, he came back obsessed with prophesy, and told the master of arms that he must become a warrior to fulfill a prophesy, probably also spurring him to pursue Lyanna. So you're probably correct that he rediscovered it at that time.

The king is a good man, but a bad king. He is weak and he is cowardly. He avoids any conflict. You can't do that as a king. The only thing that can be blamed on the king at the birth of his son is that he was too cowardly to tell his wife what is going to happen. Again, he didn't want any conflict. The king postpones any conflict. Demon only gets a slap on the wrist for murdering through the streets. The next time he would be punished. Which is not to say that Demon has acted inherently wrong. He only did it without the king's orders. Because the king does not give orders as quickly as would be necessary. The king also does nothing against his enemies. Birth takes precedence. The Iron Throne punishes comfortable kings. Those who make themselves too comfortable on the throne will be punished. Vasyris is cut from the throne and his wounds do not heal. It was not Demon mourn or celebrate the death of his nephew. He has referred to him as heir to the throne for a day. But how Hightower conveyed this to the king is, of course, told in the way he needs it.

The conference to pick an heir to the throne at beginning of episode was held in Harrenhall and it looks ruined because Aegon the Conqueror gave it a dragon fire remodel. But it’s still the biggest castle in Westeros so it could hold all the kingdom’s nobles and their entourages.

Daemon Targaryen is George RR Martin's favorite Targaryen. He likes gray characters. Not all Targaryen's have white hair, Rhaenys has black hair in the books because of her Baratheon parent. The show simplifies it by making them have white hair to identify them more easily. I really enjoyed the show, I'm looking forward to Sunday to see the start of season 2!

The Book the show pulls from is an in universe history book compiled by several people. The idea is that what was in the book was twisted by people with agendas and the show is what happened before the book was made.

It is possible that Aerys may of told rhagar before Robert's rebellion before aerys lost his mind. But it may of been lost after the dance of dragons or the blackfyre rebellion that takes place after this series and sometime before the whole kingdom was united before Robert's rebellion.

Actually I think it’s a coming plot in the last two books. The Conqueror’s Dream is something that was heavily hinted at in the World of Ice & Fire encyclopedia when published years ago. It quickly became a theory & with Martin’s involvement with the show, it’s believed to be a coming plot development. There’s context clues in the ASOIAF books, they detail how Rhaegar was a scholarly boy till he read something (*likely* the Targaryen prophecy) and immediately changed afterwards to mirror a knight to fulfill a certain prophecy. Up until this point, Rhaegar is officially the only character in the books to directly say, ‘The Song of Ice and Fire.’

The books are definitely way different than the show and that’s why I’m excited for HOTD, his involvement really ups the drama & intrigue. But as of now, we only have theories and speculations.
