Pretty much everybody that survived Captain Trips basically has some amount of "Shine". The Shine is present in a good handful of King's books outside of Shining and Doctor Sleep, whether its called that or not.

This show is amazing, and I'm glad you reacted to it. Also thanks for being honest about your reactions even when they aren't popular - authenticitiy is important, and it's nice to see the journey you go on to enjoy the series and characters more as it goes along. Always secretly hoping for a special guest appearance of a tiny you asking for cheese after bedtime, it keeps me in suspense

In case you missed it or were not aware -- the man who played Tom Zarek, the prisoner/terrorist who led the revolt on the prison barge was Richard Hatch. He played Captain Apollo on the original Battlestar Galactica in 1978 and had championed the idea of relaunching the BSG series for decades. He had even personally financed a a short film called "Battlestar Galactica - The Second Coming" as a pitch to network executives in 1999

You can't collect any water that has been vented into space. With zero atmospheric pressure (a hard vacuum), most liquids immediately expand to a gas and disperse with all the velocity obtained by the explosive decompression as it exited the ship. TL:DR version -- It's gone. Don't even try

In the book, both Addam and his brother Alyn (who were about 15 years old at this time) tried to claim dragons; and Alyn was definitely rejected (and badly wounded), but Addam claimed Seasmoke. Alyn does, much later, claim another dragon, sort of (depending on how you define "dragon"), well, is claimed by one.

I found it amusing when you guys were critiquing the use of green screen in some areas, wishing it were a little better. When this was being made, the producers had to fight for every penny to build the sets, props and VFX they wanted. Because of their budget constraints, they couldn't make some scenes as cleanly as they would have liked. As an inside joke, you will notice that every printed document in the pilot movie was octagonal in shape. That was David Eick and Ronald Moore's way of saying they had "cut corners" to make this work. Once the series was picked up for a full season, they had to stick with that esthetic for the entire run

22:23 While sure, technically Dwight directly didn't initiate the hostile situation, the way his daughter phrases it there is very astute. Dwight is at fault because upon landing in Tulsa, he immediately embraced the inherently violent and unpredictable criminal life that had cost him everything before. He "set the stage" for the violence potentially directed at innocent loved ones by introducing the element of criminality into their lives. He is a very likable person on many levels, but one has to acknowledge that if he truly cared about his loved one's safety, he wouldn't make decisions that placed them in danger.
