There's actually some credence to the idea that Laenor has to die for Seasmoke to bond with a new rider; in the book, there's no ambiguity to his death, he's straight up murdered in public with witnesses. With the show going in a different direction, I could see Seasmoke rejecting riders for a while, then accepting a new one, which would signal to Raenyra and Daemon that Laenor finally bit it in Essos.

Great recap. I have been re-watching S1 before I dive into S2. But tbh even re-watching it I was getting lost with all the factions and cities and bloodlines and who is married to who and blah blah. This helped make a lot more sense of it all. Although I have had to re-watch this a few times too. Comes with age I guess. Well done sir !! It was painful to see Viserys speaking with Alicent thinking he was talking to Rhaenyra. What a plot twist that was...wow !!

I just finished the season and needed this recap. I was kinda disappointed that this wasn't as eventful as GoT. It was also a bit confusing who was who after a while. It felt like they tried to tell too many stories from the book, so it all felt disjointed. The last episode was sad because Rheynera had to do all of that mess right after losing her baby. When the Big dragon ate the little dragon, I almost cried. Thanks for this recap!!

I'm the originator of the following amazing theory and I think it should be done! I believe they may have added in the adsence of Maelor as a storyline. Hear me out Maelor being unborn at this time, then Aegon flying to Rooks Rest and what we believe happens to him actually happens; significantly weakens his claim. In turn this will create an issue in the line of succession. As people may speculate that Aegon will be able to produce no more heirs leading to the same problem occurring all over again. People speculate that Aemond is the father of Jhaerys, what if they've done this to show that Maelor is the son of Aemond. He will step in 'do his duty' as he claimed he would on Driftmark and father Maelor on Helena to strengthen the claim to the throne. Thus, making it so the children wed are Aegon III and... I've forgotten her name, I know she doesn't go on to rule. So, the children of Aemond, Daemon and Rhaenyra. The 3 true Dragons in the Dance. I think they might do this though, as people have been speculating and it will be a magnificent addition and add the element of show don't tell. I hope this makes some semblance of sense. To add to this, It will also go to show how the Greens only see women as brooding mares and not to be placed in the line of succession. I am aware that Aegon III doesn't rule with Jaehera, but still. I've struck gold and if the writers have done this to intentionally set this up then they did it well. If not they should do this because I'm clearly a better writer. HA! Agree? Credit This Bitch!
