Rhaenyra makes this face after her and Alicent talk, that looks like she can now go to war without the guilt or hesitation she was feeling
@cinderfeatherАй бұрын
Bingo. She always had this doubt. And for anyone wondering what the point of this scene was? What you said is the point. And in the preview of the next episode, Rhaenyra goes all out. It looks like we might finally see Rook's Rest.

@erinavery4577Ай бұрын
@@jonadol they could have done that without pacing the last few episodes the way they did and in a better, nuanced way. Or cut the hesitation out at all. Now it feels that her avoidance of war was only because she "didn't believe in herself " now she can " go slay queen". Feels like high school writing and not a sophisticated fantasy like it was. Not to mention if alicent wanted to avoid war she could have had rhaenyra arrested right then and there (which would have been more logical in in GOT world but hey, sistas before mistas right? Girl code! Yay!) . Don't get me wrong I loved season 1 but this season feels different

@erinavery4577 girl code? Sweetie, if that's what you took, then you need to rewatch the show. Both her and Alicent hesitated BECAUSE THEY ALREADY LOST FAMILY TO THE WAR AND WANTED TO AVOID LOSING MORE. It's really NOT that hard to understand. Rhaenyra has exhausted ALL efforts. Now she knows without a shadow of a doubt that this blood that will be spilled is NOT on her hands. You men might not understand this, but it IS important to exhaust all other options BEFORE going nuclear. which, in their case, is using dragonfire.

I mean, you are literally forcing what happened into a comedy narrative that wasn't there (thankfully). What you've described is what lesser writers might do in order to pander to the "everything must be sarcastic or comedy" mindset. I personally don't have that kind of mindset and i find it very difficult to watch shows that use writers or actors who come at it in that way.

Even if Alicent hadn't misunderstood Viserys, the Council was planning to usurp Rhaenyra anyway, so it didn't matter anyway in some sense. But sadly he’s “loyal” to his brother. .. that brothel scene broke my heart for Aemond... he’s so polar opposite of his brother... loyal to that mother proxy at the brothel, whilst his brother “the king” r@ped women and sire countless bastards he banished to die in the fighting pits. . . viewers forget how AWFUL Aegon is. @NotAGoodUsername360Ай бұрын
And she's allowed to make stupid decisions and be horribly, horribly wrong. Though it is hilarious how the show tries to deny Rhaenyra's guilt for Blood & Cheese. Like she didn't loudly declare to her entire council that she wanted Aemond's head. In Daemond's presence. You can't make a declaration like that, as a supposed Queen, and NOT expect it to be interpreted as an order. She still doesn't realize her words carry weight, and that the person she orders dead might not be the one who actually dies. She's as guilty of his murder as if she'd torched Aemond's room in the Keep and only the little boy was there for some reason.

Even if Queen Alicent took this new info to the council, they would ignore her. Remember the what happened after the passing of the king. Lol, I saw someone complaining that we've had 3 episodes without a battle and I was just like, GoT got 18 episodes in before the first onscreen battle. The stuff they're setting up in these episodes is going to make the battle so much more satisfying when it arrives.
@givepaddytheemmy4535Ай бұрын
Yeah I don’t get a large portion of the fanbase. Do they not understand that in this war there are like 4 or 5 battles total? And that if we just blitzed through two battles by now then literally half the characters and dragons would already be dead lmao. TikTok brainrot is too real
@kingkiller5325Ай бұрын
@@Adamantium93Yeah this is a complaint I don't get. GoT season 1 famously made all of the Battles in Season 1 off screen. Hell the entirety of the War of 5 Kings was basically just the Battle of Black Water in the show. And it's not like these episodes of have nothing. You are basically getting a GoT Season 7-8 level dragon in every Episode. And on top of that look at the world building in each episode. Just the sheer size of the set of Harrenhall. We have rarely seen sets this big in TV. These huge practical sets cost a lot of money. I think a big portion of the Audience takes anything that isn't straight up action for granted. The extensive sets, costumes, props, CGI elements that make the world of Westeros look so big and real and lived in cost a lot of money and are rarely found in other shows.

@erinavery4577Ай бұрын
@@stelmaria-mx that could have been done in a more subtle and nuanced way instead of dragging it out in an entire scene. There has been "character development" for 12 episodes so far. They don't know how to pace and alot of scenes are literal dialogue of the plot. This writing reminds me if season 7 and 8. Alicent would have kidnapped rhaenyra in the end and the war would have been over. That entire scene with them was info that the audience already knew and alicent realizing " this was a misunderstanding" seems really elementary to me because the war was going to happen anyways
@Dec4AllTimeAlwaysАй бұрын
I actually thought the episode was mostly mid or slightly above mid and I don’t buy Rhaenyra risking her life just to have a chat with Alicent. Alicent could’ve easily screamed and cried for help after she left regardless Rhaenyra holding a knife. I’m not sure that part was ever in the book. An added scene to have Emma and Olivia interact again. I did like the confusion of Aegon the Conqueror finally being solved. The parts I did like from the episode - - Rhaenyra and Mysaria bonding more. Mysaria is an important ally to Rhaenyra in this entire story. - Introduction to Ulf the White. He’s likable now similar to Hugh Hammer. Let’s just say I will compare Ulf to what Paul George recently did to my LA Clippers. 💰 That is all. - Introduction to Alys Rivers. When Alys said to Daemon that he will die here in Harrenhal, remember that the God’s Eye lake is next to that castle. - Dream sequence brought back Milly Alcock for a surprise cameo and humanizes Daemon giving him a guilt trip over Jaehaerys’ death. I’ve been desensitized from The Boys for showing tons of male genitalia, so when I saw Ewan Mitchell show his cock, I wasn’t that shocked. It may not be his real penis showing either. That could be prosthetics or he’s patched or wearing a thong and the penis was CGI added. Rob Benedict who portrayed Splinter in The Boys S4 wore prosthetics penis and ass. I was actually more shocked with Ewan’s torso. He’s ripped! Ewan is 27 but he has a ripped torso and isn’t Aemond supposed to be only around 16-17? But then it’s weird because Ewan still has skinny arms. Tiny biceps. He’s not like Manny Jacinto who actually has always been ripped even before he became Jason Mendoza in The Good Place and way before Darth Biceps. If you want to see more male genitalia… Wild Things (Kevin showed his bacon) Forgetting Sarah Marshall Zack and Miri Make a Porno Most Sacha Baron Cohen comedies Pam & Tommy The Boys Gen V Aemond showing his penis was hardly shocking if you watch The Boys. And again, it could be CGI or prosthetics. Aegon went back being a douchebag again bullying his younger brother. The whorehouse scene with a woman sucking a guy’s huge cock seemed unnecessary. It’s obviously prosthetics because HBO can’t show porn. They couldn’t when they aired Real Sex and Cathouse: The Series. I was actually concerned if Daemon was going to hook up with Alys Rivers. I was like, “Don’t trust that b*tch!” She’s like a witch. She’s future paramour to the full monty himself in this episode. The less interactions with Alys, the safer Daemon would be. Don’t trust these witch b*tches! We got to see more of Rhaena at least. She had more speaking lines. But then she ends up being a babysitter to Rhaenyra’s kids since she has no dragon. Criston Cole with that stupid haircut and being a douche to Alicent’s brother who called Criston the “knight of comfort.” Fabien Frankel might be one of the most handsome actors to ever portray such a hated character. I think he’s more handsome than Matt Smith and Ewan Mitchell but Daemon and Aemond are the Final Fantasy characters. Similar to Qimir/Smilo Ren, they can sell merch. I just thought the last part between Rhaenyra hiding in disguise as some nun to speak with Alicent didn’t feel realistic to me. Why risk her life for it? Why not write letters and have ravens drop them off? Rhaenyra is the most important character to Team Black and she’s willing to risk her life to have a 3-minute chat with Alicent? Episode 3: B- Episode 3 felt like a filler episode before the next big one which will be Episode 4. Ep. 2 was the strongest one so far thanks to the strong acting from Tom, Rhys, and Emma. The next episode is going to be crazy: Battle at Rook’s Rest. If you know the outcome, I give my best to Eve. 😭

I think it's a real missed opportunity for the show, if you're gonna have the queen sneak into the heart of enemy territory then at least make it suspenseful and show that there's a lot at stake. They could have drawn it out a bit, shown her trying to sneak around possibly even get discovered by someone but then that someone gets killed by an unforseen ally before they tell anyone. But no she just strolls up into kings landing no problem and is able to get close enough to the queen mother to kill her.
