@@jimbabwe6529 right but the point is that full army or not, you’d typically equip your soldiers. However the north doesn’t do this for many reasons. The main one is that the north is not rich like the Lannisters, the Hightowers, the Velaryons or any other major house. The North always has, and almost always will, keep to itself and have little to do with the other kingdoms unless it is forced to. Secondly the Graybeards are experienced in battle, as Cregan mentioned. This means they likely have been given armor and weapons in the past and don’t need to wait for new gear. As a result they all have varying degrees of equipment, unlike the Hightower host or the Lannister army, which is completely uniform down to the daggers on the hips of every Hightower soldier. They may LOOK poorly equipped but in reality they are likely to be far more effective than a uniform army because they are fighting with weapons they have held and used for years, not new equipment they have to adjust to the weight and feel of

Also Kings landing which will be a surrender not a battle and they could keep going ending the season with First Battle of Tumbleton & Battle above the Gods eye. Season 3 will be absolutely peak, i expect some things to be cut due to buget but even with 3-4 of the major events. It should be crazy

Those final two shots are inspired. Rhaenyra buried by history, legacy, accepting her duty that she at one time might have turned away from, and Alicent, finally freed of it all but at a major cost. That is the magic of film/tv.

I don't think that's what the final 2 shots imply. Rhaenyra is now imprisoned and doomed: thus why it looks like PRISON BARS. Alicent is now free - because she stopped choosing a side - and is looking into the sunset, free. Alicent unlocked the cheatcode. Both character's arcs end completely swapped. I disagree. Her little smile says it all, she's finally accepting what she has been trying to avoid for 2 seasons & you can tell she's almost content with it. Her shot looks like a family tree, with all the scrolls & recordings of her family before her. You could say it looks like a prison, but that would undo the growth she has done about finally accepting what must be done to reclaim her throne.

You accept you role and at the same time accept the duty that comes with it. And with duty comes restrictions, and very different from how Rhaenyra was often times out on the balcony looking over the sea in fresh air, now she’s overlooking the same sea but rather inside where it’s stuffy and confined. And Alicent has been weighed down by her duty and what she thought her role was, very often inside the red keep or inside the courtyard, never really seeing beyond the castle walls. And now she’s finally realized it doesn’t matter if she lets it go so she’s able to be free and all those walls that had been closing her in are gone and she really can go anywhere and do anything she wants

Language here speaks more dramatically, comparing Alicenta and Rhaenyra. Alicenta, who has always been captive to her father's desires to elevate her house and have absolute power in the 7 kingdoms with an heir to the Iron Throne - gives up the claim and is finally free to be herself. And Rhaenyra, who wished to rule peacefully and justly, is forced to reclaim her throne by fire and blood, imprisoned by her own ambitions, burdened with cruel decisions and ambiguous allies bastards dragon riders. This is very powerful shots.

@riccardopncld It certainly was prepare for war lol. The first 8 episodes were what you wrote exactly. The circumstances behind why the dance started. The last two was the coup and ascension of Aegon II, that episode already established the alliances and war resources of the Greens. House Hightower, house Lannister, and of course Vhagar, the securing of the treasury, the declaration and reason why the coup was 'legitimate' was supposed to be explained by Cole. That is why the episode was called 'the green council'. The next episode was the coronation of Rhaneyra, the establishment of alliances, particularly house Velaryon, house Celitgar, house Darklyn, a few errant kings guard, and the pursuit of other houses to extend their support such as Baratheon, Stark, and Arryn. Then, the very first action that made the war hot, the passing of Lucerys Targaryen. Rhaneyra's angry face was supposed to communicate to the audience that she was committed to vengeance. Blood and cheese was the retaliation in the very first episode of season two flaring the war into a frenzy on both sides. After season 2 episode 1, the entire tone should have been two sides willing to do anything to annihilate the other. Instead we got this constant filler and Rhaneyra and Alicent not being committed to either side of their war completely while each faction stares in confusion and annoyance as to why. The battle of the burning mill and the battle at rooks rest straight up nullifies your entire point that season 2 was a preparation. Both of those battles were hot war scenes. Rooks rest was done well, mill was offscreened and the show suffered for it.

Game of Thrones was just that, a bunch of different characters who didn’t interact all playing the game for the throne. House of the Dragon is primarily about the family of dragons and those involved by extension. The war is for someone to sit the throne yes, but at its core it’s a family tearing itself apart. So important we understand the members of that family before just diving head first into war. Also not to mention HBO execs cut the season last minute and didn’t leave enough to time to rewrite it successfully

Also, Daeron will not abandon his family. His mother is a Hightower and he was raised in Oldtown, a kind boy whose only crime was being born Alicent's son. She sold him out, too.

I am pretty concerned that he was captured by Beesburys, that's why he didn't send any letters. Also, I'm strongly believe that the person who rescues him was Dearon, his third grandson. We saw Tessarion some while before scene with Otto. You know, although I'm team black and I was so pleased with Winter Wolfes at the Twins, either I am curios about Dearon and his dragon. One of the most powerful scene even compared to the best of GoT moments and episodes. These of top level. So... Let's the carnage begin 😈☠️🐺🦁🐉

Love this shot at 4:19. Rhaenyra is literally surrounded by Targaryen history, the shelves creating a family tree leading to her with her own spot in the chain. She is destined to rule, driven forward with ancestral purpose. Compare that to the shot of Alicent at 4:23 being in the same spot visually as Rhaenyra. She had been overlooked by everyone she has chosen to ally with and has now even condemned her own son to death. She is completely alone with only open sky surrounding her.

The ending music in this ep and 7 were perfect for their scenes. Sheepstealer looks skeletal by bony wing tips for each finger. His raor like a mixture with a burp. Rhaenyra said "A son for a son", should just go for Aemond since he's a threat to both of them (Ryhaenya and Aegon). Alicent looks like she's gonna jump off a cliff knowing this is all her fault. Bc of a terrible mistake she made with her husband's last words.

Such a beautiful scene in so many ways perfectly in sync with soundtrack by the one and only Ramin Djawadi. You have the North, the river lands, The Velaryon fleet & Multiple Dragon riders on one side and the other side The Lannisters, the Hightower’s, Triarchy fleet, few dragon riders but with the biggest dragon in the realm. So many ways to play this in a this chessboard which is westeros. I really can’t wait!

Watching this again, I feel this was the scene we needed for the game of thrones season 7 finale, all of the seven kingdoms (or at least most of them) marching north to face the white walkers. But I also understand, for the point of the story by season 7, there were not many armies left after the war of of the five kings
