I bought BUSHES and were growing them indoors and then all these pests made their home in the bushes (inlcuding an ant farm) and assorted spiders and then my husband had the duty of "disposing" of them so now... im not allowed.

10:09 is a diffenbachia! It's related to the agleonema so they look at lot alike 11:25 is a pothos! They're super easy to take care of! 12:02 is a hoya carnosa! 12:59 is a pilea pepermoides (I think that's how you spell it) 14:45 is a tradescantia zebrina! They're so pretty, I love purple plants 15:56 is some type of Croton? Also, those are mealy bugs! I like to take a q tip or papertowel that's soaked in rubbing alcohol and directly wipe them off. They're kinda gross lol but that, with regularly spraying the plants with neem oil (mixed with water) keeps them away. I'd also put that one in isolation so they don't spread to the other plants lol.

Yes definitely, the diffenbachia is a "camille" the aglaonema after they Camille is getting too much water they like to be dry af before you water.

Another that can help get your plants free of bugs - mealybugs is mothballs, I had a cactus infested with those disgusting things and a try dish-soap/alcohol, but they always come back, so, I tried the mothballs thing and worked - you just need to bury one or a couple (depend the size of your plant) mothballs in the dirt, and do what you normally do to get those things out of your plant and they will never comeback.

Golden Pothos it's like IMMORTAL. My father has one that my mother owned (she passed away when I was 12) and we just saw a picture of me when I was like 2 or 3 yo (i'm 31 now) and it was literally living inside of a light bulb hanging on the wall. Now I have a piece of that plant growing roots into a jar. It's amazing.

neem oil works for most bugs. a few tips: 1) most of the neem oil sprays you find in big box stores are extracts with other compounds in it and don't work as well. get 100% neem oil (amazon), mix it with some water and spray it on your plants. 2) many bugs (especially aphids) like to hide under the leaves, so be sure to spray there, too. 3) next time you water your plants, mix neem oil in the carafe and soak it into the soil. this "drench" lets the plants take up the neem oil so they can fight bugs from the inside out and also kills bugs that live in soil and attack plant roots or steal their nutrients. thanks for the wholesome content.

11:56 is a hoya krimson queen! its called that cus when its getting enough light the leaves grow in bright pink. 15:50 seems like a variation of a croton plant. the bugs are mealy bugs, and theyre a pain unfortunately :( try spraying them with a mix of alcohol and water. i'd start at 50/50 mix at first and then add more alcohol if that doesnt work. good luck!

Yup definitely a pilea moon valley from the way you described it. They LOVE humidity, must keep the soil moist during growing season and they attract spider mites a lot. You'll have to spray it with a natural insecticide. And the croton, if you've sprayed thrips and they keep coming back you'll have to repot, spray again and see what happens. Make sure to keep infected plants far away from the others or you're going to have a huge problem. Hope this helps :)

turning your plants is also super important to get a healthy, lush result especially in an indoor situation where they’re receiving most of their light from one source. In the case of the pilea you notice the stem is leaning towards one direction, this is because it’s getting light from one side and reaches for that so by turning the plant regularly you allow it to receive equal light from all angles resulting in a straight stem leading to a robust appearance with the foliage.

At 15:50, the type of croton could be Codiaeum variegated Eleanor Roosevelt. Crotons need a lot of light to bring out their best colours. If it isn't already used to direct sunlight, then acclimate it by gradually increasing the hours of direct sunlight each week. Let it dry 1-2 knuckles deep before watering. Regarding the mealybugs, rubbing alcohol works best, as other commenters have said. You can use a diluted spray (50-70%) but the most effective is 99% dabbed on with a Q-tip (don't spray this strength on the leaves). Mealybug nests (the "cotton wool" specks) can survive away from the plant too, so check around the edges of the pot, inside and out, and even underneath the pot. Inspect it each time you water, and it should only take a couple of treatments to get rid of them all.

HI! Aphids-one tsp of Dr. Bronners all purpose liquid soap(or any Dr.B) and one tsp. Neem oil. Combine with distilled water in a quart size container. Spray plant down and wipe with a clean soft cloth 1x a wk. Til gone or for the life of the plant. Sorry if reapeating aphid advice. Did not have time to read 500+(YAY!🤗) comments. For the white bugs: Alcohol on cotton buds and wipe the whole plant and get as much as possible off. Repeat every time you see more of them.

Your hyacinth is a seasonal plant. You put the bulb in the water then keep it in the dark till it sprouts. Bring it into the light until after it flowers. After that put them in the garden to recover some nutrients and build up for the next season.. I’ve never dug one up a second time to put in the glass but maybe someone else has. This is a popular seasonal flower in the UK. Mix your bug spray with a little dishwashing liquid and little veg oil. It makes it stick to the bugs

The Chinese Evergreen and the one after it are getting tooooo much water (hence the yellowing of the leaves). The plant after the two Chinese Evergreens is a Golden Pothos. Easiest. Plant. Ever. Also super easy to propagate into more plants = more FREE plants!

Wandering Jew, zebrina. Try diatomaceous earth (food grade, trader Joe's). I use it in my charcoal clay toothpaste and for all insect problems. It kills them immediately. So wash off bugs with a sponge and dawn, let dry and carefully, it's a light and fine powder) dust plant with DE, sprinkle a little on top of soil. I guarantee it will work immediately. DE gets into the exoskeleton and dehydrates bugs. It works instantaneously on ants. A five pound bag will last forever.

The unidentified easy, super easy plant looks like a pothos. They're sometimes called money plants and people think they bring good luck. They are super easy and last forever. My grandma always has had them and now I do too!

FYI: 75 to 80 degrees is fine for basically any common housplant. Most plants do best outdoors (No plant evolved to live in your house). I grow most of my plants outdoors in summer because it is a great way to "catch up" and get some good growth. I live in MN so our winter light and temps are trash, and summer is usually mild. As long as you can give things the correct amount of shade the free light and rain from outside is fire.

Hey gorgeous lady! Just found your videos and I am so glad I did! I once kept an Amaryllis after it was done with blooming. Its bulb grew huge (2-3 times larger what it originally was) and leaves grew taller and thicker. Nobody believed it was an Amaryllis. I just kept it as a normal houseplant, after giving it some fertilizer it really was growing fast and strong. It was a proud, handsome entity. When we moved I gave it to a neighbor, Finnish winters are brutal and I didn't want to risk freezing it.

Note time 6:33, the dracena, once the leaves droop from lack of water they will NOT perk back up. The new leaves that come in will be ok. The pot size looks ok, but check the plant roots to be sure that they aren't pot bound. Most dragon plants like to be pot bound a little

Put a few drops on dish soap in a water spray bottle, then spray the leaves periodically. The soap dries out pests exoskeletons, but won't affect the plants as long as you keep it diluted with water. Adding pepper or chili powder to water spray keeps big pest like rabbits and such from eating them.

I also live in TX, central but north of Austin. I've discovered that adding some Spanish moss (sold at most stores from Lowes/Home Depot to Walmart or even Dollar Tree) to the tops of the soil has eliminated the bug problem for me. It does double duty in that it helps the plant retain moisture longer. As an added precaution, I mix up my own "bug spray" that is a bit of dish soap, some rubbing alcohol, topped with water and a few drops of peppermint or spearmint, eucalyptus, and tea tree oils in a spray bottle. Shake it before use. I guess the moss does triple duty, because I feel like it holds that pest spray a little longer too. :-)

Hi Hallease. The one in the black pot is a golden pothos, the next one in blue is a hoya crimson queen , the purple one is a wandering jew. The one being attacked by aphids is a croton.

11:10 The vining, "drapey" plant that can attach to stuff is an Epipremnum aureum, aka Golden Pothos. The gold splotches become more pronounced with higher light levels, but it tolerates low light and neglect. The attachment stuff you pointed at are aerial roots. If you clip off a leaf that has an aerial root you can put it in a cup of water to make a new plant. 11:50 The vining plant without aerial roots is either a Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen' ... also called wax plant. The blooms come off of a "peduncle" - which is kind of like a branch that comes off of the main vine. NEVER TRIM THOSE OFF. It can rebloom from previous peduncles! 14:40 the trader joes plant is a Tradescantia zebrina, also known as an inch plant, spider wort, wandering dude, or (unfortunately) wandering jew. I have a Tradescantia fluminensis 'Tricolor' that grows SO fast it's nuts. You can trim it back if it gets out of hand and root the clippings to make more plants. 16:00 The 'aphid' plant is a croton of some kind, hard to tell which exactly. The aphids are mealybugs. :( Good luck.

You can also use neim oil sprays.. they are organic! I also use rubbing alcohol on a qtip to get rid of mealy bugs if you get them.. just gotta attack them in the leaves and stems :) aphids can be rinsed off in a shower if needed as well as a soap and water mixture! (Always good to rinse off the leaves to keep off dust and Bugs! Rinse wipe then let them chill outside to dry off a bit without burning leaves) I hope this helps! Some times you may need to Depot the plant shake out the roots and dispose of damaged soil-eggs and larvae can start to produce in there.. you can wash the pot with the minty soap and alcohol, rinse roots well and repot just becareful to avoid any air bubble or damaging roots -there’s some great video info on here to help!! FYI, you can propagate the Dracaena Marginata (all Dracaenas, I think) by topping it off. Remove leaves from the bottom 6" and place 4" deep into soil. The stem will sprout new chutes(?) and leaves,, and your tops should produce roots. I just learned this and topped my 2 Dracaena Marginata I've had for the past 3 years.

To save sometime I'd put the in the tub and spray the all at the same time, let them drain off and put out on you balcony. Also, for bugs you can put a few drops of dish soap in a spray bottle with water spray the leaves ( especially under the leaves, let them sit for a few minutes then rinse off in your shower. It with kill those little insects that like to hang out under the leaves.

A cheap way to prevent bugs is to use a soap and water mix to cover all the soil, leaves, and edge of the pot (give it a thorough water basically), it can help prevent/kill numerous pests. Hope that helps 🌱

I change out the dirt whenever I get the bugs. For the stubborn plants, I add a layer of sand to the top. The bugs hate the dry environment and cannot settle into the dirt as fast.

First plant is Pilea Mollis 'Moon Valley', second looks like a golden pothos, and third Hoya carinosa, 3rd is a purple wandering jew. The one that has bugs, is a croton gold dust. It has mealybugs usual treatment with alcohol, and qtip, every few days till gone. I also use (alcohol or) neem oil spray (smells like garlic) mixed with water and soap, it works great on bugs. Mealybugs are white fuzzy looking, aphids white bug and black dots, spider mites tiny tiny white specks and webs in crevices, and fungus gnats. There are some amazing videos on how to get rid of them too. Hope it helps!

To prevent bugs in your plants, remove your plants from their soil, rinse them thoroughly and repot them in sphagnum moss. Put moist sphagnum moss at the bottom (to keep in moisture )and dry spagnum moss in the rest of the pot to fill up the space around your plant. The bugs come from the soil/ can be attracted to the soil in the future. The moss method is a life saver from pest

Hi sis I have tip about fertilizer, egg shell water or coffee grounds water is a great fertilizer. After using an egg out the shells in a jar of water with a lid because it will stink, water your plants from the water and then add more water to the jar for the next time. If you drink coffee use the grounds by putting them in the water that you use to water the plants, I use this method. Enjoy your living things beautiful ❤️

First vining plant is a Golden Pothos, the next one i think is a Tricolored Hoya ! It might be a different kind of Hoya. The purple and green trailing plant is called a Wandering Jew! Also, your last plant - it has Mealy bugs, not aphids. Try soaking it in a soap water bath (research the amounts) or also try Neem oil or Horticultural oil! Just make sure you get the diluted one or dilute it yourself before spraying - Best solve for bugs!

In the blue container looks like a Friendship plant. Most variegated plants like a little more light or they can go back to green, or so I've heard. Black pot plant looks like either a heart shaped philodendron or maybe a pothos. I'm not real clear on the difference yet. I want to say the thicker stems with more space between leaves is the philodendron, but don't quote me on that. The one after that is a Hoya of some kind. The one with purple is a Purple Wandering Jew aka tradescantia zebrina, I believe. The last one looks like it could possibly be a gold dust or gold dot Croton. I hope that helps. I'm still learning a lot myself. You have a beautiful collection!

I found some plants I want 🌱 I took a broken piece of devil's ivy and placed it in a vase of water....two years later its still alive and thriving off its own ecosystem! I just add water weekly, if you change the water you throw away the nutrients. Its time to get a bigger vase. I love being able to see the roots 🤗

16:14 is a croton and those are mealy bugs. Spray with soapy water to clean off and then apply a 50/50 alcohol and water treatment. Can do that with all your infested plants. Loved the video by the way. Very chill and interactive!

I believe the easy plant is actually a philodendron not a pothos. The Trader Joe’s plant is a wandering Jew. Not sure what the last one is but try rubbing the scabby bugs off with a q tip and rubbing alcohol. The only way to get rid of them is manually. Spraying won’t do much. Hope that helps!

I recommend Bonide Systemic Granules for your plants soil to control aphids and any other bug that sucks plant juices, and also an insecticidal soap spray for the foliage, if you have springtails in the soil which happen to be very common in houseplants purchased from big box stores, I recommend Pyrethrin concentrate for a soil drench, dilute it with water like it says on the bottle and when you go to water next you water with that, you can add the systemic granules to the top of the soil before you water with the pyrethrin so that way you don't over water your plants. I use Safer Brand Insecticidal Soap and Pyrethrin concentrate. When you dilute it you can add it to a spray bottle and use that as the foliage spray. Also I recommend that you don't take your plants outside because they are exposed to pests outside. Alternatively to putting your houseplants outside, you can add some outdoor plants to your patio and treat them with the systemic granules and plain insecticidal soap, but not mixed with pyrethrin because it kills bees and always keep them outside. Also when you open windows or doors for fresh air you're allowing bugs to come in to feast on your collection. If you want to go more biological there are these things called Beneficial Nematodes that you can buy online and add to the soil they will kill and eat harmful pests in the soil. And get biological predator bug for the foliage like Ladybugs, Predator Mites, or Lacewings. The plant that you think is Angel something with the nice textured leaves in called: Pilea involucrata 'Moon Valley'.

Moon valley friendship plant (textured leaves). Next 2 were both Chinese evergreen, the 2nd one was either silver bay or cutlas ( couldn’t see the leaves well enough, if long & slender its the cutlass. The vining one is golden pothos; The free plant from your neighbor is a Hoya crimson queen!! Hoyas love to be dry & need z lot of sun. Trader Joe’s find is a trandescandia, silvery purple. Your last plant looks like some type of croton

11:20 ish the vine plant, it’s a pothos! Super Easy and beautiful lush plants that come in so many variegated leaf styles! You can actually cut and propagate the leaves from the air roots nodes :) they do well with lower light as well! Just water and keep near bright spaces- but I believe he was a golden pothos :) The vine after is a Hoya -I believe the tricolor :) I have one as well that gives me pink leaves! Make sure to let her get super pot bound as she grows and you can get blooms in the future- you can also pin the vines down(with a hair pin or unfold a paper clip) over open dirt areas and it will proceed to root and give out new growth, thus takes time and be cautious with water..they prefer distilled water where I am In Connecticut and also give her a lots of light! When watering make sure to let dry out and then a good drink- don’t let the tips of the vine dry out tho, they will break off and start over but the extra attention to get to the point when a Hoya finally blooms, I can promise it’s the most magical experience and fragrance! They are also called wax flowers if you want to check them out-they look like origami ⭐️ stars:) again hopes that helps!

Heres a tip, water your plants in the morning/ early evening! It gives the water time to soak in before the midday sun evapourates it. i dont know what time you watered them at but just thought id mention it!

The last plant you will need to change the soil and spray before reporting it back into the new soil. You will have to be careful because it will spread to your other plants. I don't know if anyone already suggested it but lady bugs feed on aphids! Esp. the lady bug larvae eat many of those a day and they're not toxic or anything. Make sure you get bugs that are endemic to your area!

I have one of those amaryllis bulbs (?) and it grew so fast once I planted it in soil. I had a set of four flowers organized in a plus sign and they were beautiful until it got too top heavy and fell off my desk into a bag of clothes I was going to return lol! A Neem oil spray will get rid of soft bodied insects to include aphids, and not affect the plant. Diatomaceous earth can be sprinkled on the surface of the dirt to prevent hatching bugs from taking over. Message me, it's kind of expensive, and I just bought some...send you a baggie :) Very nice work.

Loved this video 💗... Re bugs:Neem oil, yes for sure but the best way to keep them gone is not to bring plants outdoors...any perceived benefits are lost compared to infestation damage. Here in the northeast some folks do leave plants outside continuously for the whole summer but then come fall treat them vigorously with Neem/insecticide when brought back inside, otherwise bugs will take over.
