It’s what you do with a room really! ❤️🔥

I am so glad she and her husband are preserving the historical integrity of that amazing home. It is so refreshing to see. It hurts my heart when people gut historic properties and make them look like generic white box condos. Would love to have seen more of the home especially the kitchen and bathrooms. I love her exuberant use of color. She does it well. And the pup is adorable! Will be rewatching this often if only to see that amazing ceiling again! Thanks for posting this amazing home! ♥️

Oh you'd freak out if property hunting in the UK: you'll go to a glorious old manor with romantic gardens, the works, yet the property has somehow avoided Grade Listing somewhere in it's tragic history. You won't know this and will open the door and want to cry to see the rampant, unchecked molestation of all architectural details. Like you said, 'a generic white box'. Those vulgar, disgusting downlights all lined up and down the ceiling in two rows, pricked into the ceilings like inverted pig's teats. I turn and walk right back out. I cannot tell you how much it angers me and hurts my heart to behold this sort of thing. There's no way I'd pay top whack for a house that has been disembowelled in this way. Why have these people bought a period property only to gut it and turn it into an ugly modern blank slate?! What's wrong with people that they wouldn't just build something new with an architectural firm and leave the historic properties for the people who adore and value them deeply?! Thing is, I'd end up paying double the purchase price of the property just to have craftsmen and builders redesign, remake and finally reinstall all the architectural details. And it's not just the financial aspect of such an undertaking, it's the precious time all that takes. We don't live forever and who the hell has ten years to wait before they can have their home brought back to it's former glory? I don't want to move in to do the cosmetic work when I'm a frail old lady (god willing I get to that category rather than the unspeakable alternative). Also, it will all be artificial, like set design. The interior will not have the patina, the history, the 'atmosphere' and deeply moving authenticity of all original features. Some people value it. The home in this video was lovely, happy to see it bought by the 'right' person. Once you demolish and rip things out, it's over.
