@@keithbuchanan8588 LOL! Hope not. I would imagine he had enough lighting in there for night, but I love the idea of a kitchen that "closes" for the night with just a soft light on for ambiance. This man’s house is gorgeously curated! I agree wholeheartedly, a kitchen should be its own entity. So many people these days buy homes and take out all the walls. They forget each room has its own energy and character, which is way more interesting than living in a rectangle with islands. 🌿🐚🌴🍸

I agree. I love the concept of rooms! I think the open kitchen concept has come about because people want their kitchen for a showplace rather than cooking meals. That is interesting because I was wondering about parking when I was watching this. You can see that the house is right on the street. Darkly enchanting indeed, and a soothing relief from the relentlessly white walled (often draining, to me) California aesthetic. One thing about dark rooms with windows/good natural light I never hear mentioned, but that is obvious and _not_ depressing, is how they illuminate the human form--or the light seems to bounce off walls onto people and they emanate a certain subtle glow within windowed walls darkly painted.
@scottformby21652 жыл бұрын

I love this home and his eclectic design aesthetic. The combination and juxtaposition of precious and ornate pieces/bold patterns/ and spent, and/or found natural items creates such a beautiful, almost melancholy moodiness many people shoot for and fall short of achieving. I also feel compelled to add that I think he is incredibly handsome. He's giving me some heavy Rick Springfield vibes (if Rick Springfield hadn't ruined his face with unnecessary plastic surgery.) I am also quite a fan of Stevie Nicks (and Fleetwood Mac!) and feel like in some way, this is almost a more natural and masculine (for lack of a better term) spin on her more feminine, witchy, overtly gothic style. The title is fitting, he and his home are both incredibly enchanting. By far, my favorite Homeworthy installment thus far!
