That's not just a nice house but a lovely home for a wonderful couple. And as you say it's located in the middle of your favourite town in Japan.

Thank you, Raymond. Yes. This place is one of my favorite places to go to work so I always bring my camera with me then. Our home is a 3 min walk to the supermarkets, about 10 min walk to the City Hall and the train statio.

During that 6 months, I was driving more than 100kms to visit my husband as he was confirned in the hospital for 2 months. I was exhausted but I was excited with this home. I was literally lonely. My channel was my inspiration. Thanks for watching.

Hi Grace your home is lovely I hope your landlord appreciates you for keeping his property so nice and clean you have done a amazing job of making it a nice home with a beautiful garden thank you for sharing

Thank you so much 😊 Hello, Margaret, I am very fortunate for renting this property because the landlord is a good person. Because if not, we would have not decided to rent this place because we had enough of worst landlords in the Philippines. The location is excellent for me. I don't go out often so I am not a fan of driving. Markets, City Hall, Hospitals are accessible. He appreciates and happy with me. I'm enjoying doing these cleaning and simple DIY so it's a win-win relationship.

Hi Grace - san You have done a huge amount of work both inside and outside your house along with the cooking shopping and any additional care your husband needs. I loved the bonsai pine and the beautiful tortoiseshell cat guest in your garden
@livingwithgraceinjapan3 күн бұрын
Oh, yes, I do love that pine tree, too. I want to make that space more of "Japanese" touch so I said, I'm not satisfied with this garden. I'll do it one step at a time. Thank you for watching, Maude. Thanks.

You worked so hard and accomplished so much in 6 months. I wish our houses were less money here. Our home is 70 years old and similar in size as yours. Ours cost $2300.00 USD each month. This is less than most in our city because we bought our house many years ago. Houses here for rent are 3000-4000$ each month. Los Angeles is very expensive. Maybe someday we will sell our house and move away from the city. I would like to have more land and not be so close to neighbors. A nice quiet place near family. Your garden is beautiful. I can't wait to see what you plant in spring.

I understand, I am very happy to have a nice home, old home. I read and watch from the news how the US is getting expensive these days. We're fortunate to have affordable and decent housing in Japan.

Mabuhay Grace. I am a new subscriber. I hail from Bulacan, but I reside in Washington D.C/Maryland proper. Your life parallels mine. I see so much of me in your show and cannot help but reflect upon, with intermittent fear and joy (with a strong dose of apprehension), my own impending sunset. My husband and I are retiring in 18 months and I can't feel excited about it. More power to you.

Hi Grace thanks for the video and I hope you are both well. Japan interests me a lot so that's how I found your channel. I notice that Japanese kitchens always appear small but you cook wonderful meals whereas here in England people spend huge amounts of money and have state of the art kitchens with every appliance known to man but can't cook to save their lives. Look after yourself and best wishes from England 🏴.

Hello, Peter. 15 mins past 1 am here just got back home from my work. I wanted some kind of "me time" and that is expressing myself though this channel. Oh, I'm glad you noticed my kitchen. Next time it might be interesting to share what's in my small kitchen. That is interestng topic for our viewers around the world.

Hi grace 😊...thanks for this video it just answer my curiousity about old houses or what they called akiya in japan...and what kind of house u can get for a 50,000 yen if u rent it...though i know price depends also which prefecture you are...but ur house is so nice .i love japanese traditional house and how u make the ambiance so cozy ads to its beauty....u really had a green thumb...i wish to retire in japan soon as well ..maybe renting first is a good idea before buying an akiya....though till now i keep on convincing my husband to acquire one before we retire but he still not into it knowing the additional expenses that will cost us for renovation and other fees 😊have a great day grace 😊ur videos inspires me ...more power❤ godbless

Hello, Angie, Thank you for watching and sharing us a bit of your plans. I think I need to give you an advice. Please rent first before deciding whether you buy it or not. That is based from what I am experiencing. There are 4 seasons and each season you need to pass first. Thank you for the compliment.

Thank you for watching. I am not even receiving that small pension yet. I still have 6 years because of my age. Most Japanese are receiving the same amount so this case is not a special one. Thank you for the good wishes of this channel.

The house has a lot of charm in a beautiful and peaceful looking neighborhood. In time , with more of your DIY touches, it should become even more charming. For the outside gardening as well. I've come to learn over the years that socializing with good and friendly people can be very healthy for our state of mind. 🪴🏡
