what im confused about is people saying this girl has no technical skill....when its obvious that she has mastered life drawing, a commitment to line (which is a lot harder than it looks), color theory, etc. and has developed a consistent and marketable aesthetic. as a painting major who tends to paint and draw realistically, realism isnt the only art style, guys. i really feel like people's perception of art is so plagued by "oh this person is able to make a perfect copy of this thing that exists in life. that means it's creative and good." and to be fair, hyperrealistic art can be artistic and meaningful, but a lot of the times, realism can be a debilitating crutch that doesn't allow you to actually create meaningful and creative concepts behind your work. so im really just begging yall, please expand your artistic horizons beyond fkn bob ross (love him tho

so true! there are so many artists out there who have styles that are less conventional, but actually have very strong foundation in realism! for example, marc quinn, his sculptures are very unique (composition and medium wise), and his earlier paintings are incredible.

Lovely to see her sketches and illustrations hung up on the wall. I'd much rather see those glimpses into expressive and spontaneous illustrations than one hyperrealistic oil painting that might as well be a printed out photo. Appreciating one style of art doen't mean it is the only valid one. Artists are not only "good " after they master hyperrealistic oil painting or whatever people assume to be the height of artistic abilities. A lot of times the biggest Part of an Artwork is the intention behind it. i'd encourage everyone who judges her artwork to spend a few weeks filling up sketchbooks and exploring work like this and see what you learn about it . just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's bad . ;)

o how i love those people who don't care about art at all say: ''i could do that'', or ''my little sister makes better art''. Well maybe you can do that, or maybe your little sister does make ''better'' art. That doesn't matter at all, it's something that she loves to make, and is beautiful to her, and a lot of others. Some artists have immaculate technical skill and still choose to do simple line works and colors because it brings them joy. Art isn't just hyper realism, to be quite frank, a lot of people that are in the art world, respect abstract art way more then hyper realism. It shows you bring your own mind and put your own soul and heart in these works. Hyper realism is so impressive but basically just copying a photo. Don't waste your breath on that argument about how your little sister can do that. It doesn't impress the artist at all.

I love this, I love the simplicity and the freedom. Sometimes it gets kind of... claustrophobic, in a way, to try to paint and draw in a realistic way or following all the anatomy rules. It's nice to go back to our early days of childhood when drawing was exciting, free and not stressing. Sometimes I find myself stressed over the perfect line and I stop enjoying the making process. This is beautiful.

Seeing this woman making what I would qualify as naïve art (but art nonetheless) and being so confident about it really inspires me to pursue my own path. It's been decades that I want to draw, paint and even sculpt but I always thought I wasn't "good" and "talented" enough, when in fact the key seems to simply be finding your own style. She clearly explains the reasons behind her art style, her fascination withe the sketches sculptors, painters, etc. make before moving onto to the final piece. Her style is really beautiful and captures that feeling of the initial idea and commits to that line in a really confident and intriguing way.

Not sure why people are being so harsh. She actually has skill behind the illustrative style shes decided for herself. Her images are simple but they aren't as "naive" as people seem to think they are. Its clear that she has made stylistic choices. Not that she just makes messes and hopes for the best. The work in the video is pretty consistent and the characters are solid. It actually shows that she has figure and head drawing knowledge. Shes an illustrator. Not a realist painter. I mean, you dont judge designs in a magazine or book by comparing it to an old masters painting.

I love the colours and the movement in her artwork. I am very fond of bright splashes of colour and not much muted tones so these are lovely. The line drawing of the lady she saw in the street was full of character and immediately made me wonder about who she is and her life. I love that she has taken the old school and turned into modern whimsical art. Art is about appreciating the beauty in all things, even if it doesn't seem to follow the rules of realism and art. It follows its own rules and lives in a world of its own.

Oedipus At Colonus yes I really think she actually does. Look at her drawings of people. Some of them are more abstract, yes, but others show clear attention to proportion and reality, a fundamental skill. She can draw faces from different angles while keeping them accurate, something that no one without knowledge of the fundamentals can do consistently. She also talks about her use of color and the video shows color schemes that she has arranged. Looking at her works you can see how the colors work together and are pleasing to the eyeballs :) don’t fret, you don’t personally have to like her art, that’s fine. BUT she isn’t as unskilled as many people in this comment section are saying.

For all the naysayers in these comments, Isabella's work is worthy of a second look. It is full of energy and like all art makes you ask questions. Hyper-realism, in my view, is not art at all; it is a technique that can be learned over time and repeated over and over again. But Isabella's work is art in that it makes you see not what is on the paper or the canvas, but what is in your soul; it holds a mirror up to your being and says 'take what you see and use that to reflect your view of the world'. She does this so well through the use of physical and facial expression which is fabulous. In some ways she reminds me of a young Maggie Hambling.

Art isn't about whether it's "good" or not. It doesn't have to complex techniques or in-depth understanding of colour theory or any kind of background study involved. It's really much more about appreciation and personal taste. There will always be art you love and art you don't. What is art really? It's whatever people want it to be. Just because something is simple, it doesn't make it any less beautiful. As long as the artist is happy with their work, nothing else matters really.
