What a cheerful place. I love the way they have used material and florals designed by their family. Truly a place it’s so much color and pattern - I could see myself living there. It’s true one can even decorate e rental to suit one’s taste- few of us do that though! We wait till we buy houses to really put our stamp on them. Lovely video!

This is a beautiful home. Just stunning, but there is a lot here that one can copy even on a budget. I think I am going to even do similar curtains between the doorway in our living room/kitchen. Her mother had blue opaline glass in her apartment in New York: but you can still find beautiful blue Bristol glass that is the same effect but less expensive. Another thing people can do is to learn straight seam sewing. I sew a lot for my home. I have had an unusual situation happen where I inherited six grandchildren--full siblings. We are living chic by jowl in a small cottage. I have a raincoat yellow living room full of lovely things.: just like their sunny room. I sew my own slip covers and do upholstery---we have a home with two Airedales, but I have outwitted those lumbering creatures by making washable slipcovers out of beautiful fabrics. So, when everyone plops down, I know I can wash them eventually. It doesn't look exactly like this---yet has the same vibe. My granddaughter painted a wall of de Gournay style birds and vines on her little sister's bedroom. I work hard to create an environment just like these two cool gals. I love videos like this as they are such a source of inspiration. These girls inherited their mother's taste, but they also have their own sensibilities. I wish they had a show they talk so well together. Once upon a time, world of interiors had an interview with their mother of her lovely apartment in New York---the apartment heard around the world. I can't find the video online, but I remember it so well. The stills of their mother's apartment are available to see online if you type in Carolina Irving New York. Well done House and Garden for posting this beautiful video.

I live in Scotland, so they have a bit more light, I have to be surrounded by colour - it's an antidode to the luck of light. My kitchen is white and black, but when you open my dish cupboard, the dishes are super colourful.
