I can remember the days when my kids & I would take the jeep and roam the forest to fish , hike, & grill ... or get a wild streak and head to the gulf to swim, fish, float, and grill on the beach! Getting older is a chore ... but I have my 6 grand kids splashing in the pool and eating all of my snacks!

Just watched Peter's video with you. I was raised very dry land on the river. Raised and ate the vast majority of what we ate....little farm in TN hills, no tractors, no running water, 3 electric plugs in the whole house and 2 were in kitchen for stove and refrigerator No light pollution at night....see a huge sky with stars....just Lau on a blanket and wonder about the heavens....no sounds except nature, occasionally a farm device in the distance from a neighbor 2-5 miles away. We used mules to plow all my life, drove a tractor once at age 26...didnt like it. Cut wood and snaked it out with a mule, cut firewood, hunted squirrels (which probably very similar to nutrina...we called them tree rats). Very nice life....enjoy it as much as you can

Truer words were never spoken. I had the same relationship with my Son. He died in an accident on his first job out of high school. My wife and I had the same relationship with our son and Daughter. "It never gets old". He's right about that. Our lake was only 135 acres with an inlet channel and an outlet channel to ride around and play on. It never got old either. How I hated Sunday afternoon because we had to leave. Stuff like this is Heaven on earth. Again, it never gets old.

Amen Larry. We decided to move to ours full time. About 100 acres. Property is awesome, made great friends there, and no regrets. We just couldn’t wait until retirement to live it now. Still doing a full renovation on the house, doesn’t bother me, life is good on the water

Rather than let it sit and rot It was Sold to a wonderful family with small children. At least they'll get the enjoyment so many others may never experience. We had 40 years of enjoyment with it. I miss it, but I'm glad it's being enjoyed. Lake property is terribly expensive for us middle class people these days. Keeps far too many from the experience of it all. Peace.
