Not exactly correct since most chefs are still male. Also blame the parenting. Several generations of shaming guys who happily do chores around the house and teaching that it’s a woman’s job to do it will do that to ya. Lots of guys are waking up and breaking out of the pattern of pointless gender roles as well though. Some dudes are straight up not taught to cook and are instead taught that it’s okay cuz their partner will cook for them (which is bs and just leads to unhealthy eating when they live alone too). But yeah the best you can do is call out and avoid the dudes whp are trying to perpetuate it and ensure that your own children learn these skills regardless of gender. I know I will do just that when I’ll be a father. My sons will know to clean their own places, cook and be able to take care of themselves.

Kimchi making is seriously a labor of love. My friend once told me her parents made kimchi together as bonding/date night thing. And about a year ago, my own parents started making their own kimchi. I’ve helped out a few times and I can tell you, it’s a long and tedious process, but it is SOOO WORTH IT! Once you’ve made your own kimchi and found the mixture that works for you, you seriously can’t go back to store bought kimchi. Don’t get me wrong some brands of kimchi are good. But homemade kimchi, made to fit your specific tastebuds is phenomenal. Our family hasn’t bought kimchi since we started making our own. Now I look forward to whenever they make it to not only help out, but to also learn so that I can make my own kimchi one day 😊

You can also substitute the gochugaru with regular hot pepper flakes and the rice flour porridge with cooked rice and water blended into a pudding-like consistency. You can also substitute the fish sauce with soy sauce and add dried shrimps all blended with the other ingredients. Hope this helps, good luck.👍🏼

I just kept on coming back to this show, even though I watched this a lot of time I still enjoy it.

I make a 3 cabbage Kimchi every 2 weeks...I do it outside on the Picnic table using the garden hose for washing...that way making a mess is no problem....since it is late spring, I am using Dandelion and Garlic Scapes, and young onion......food of the Gods

Its so much better with just his own commentary, i hate when they show the whole desk of hosts commenting uselessly

Idk why but I keep coming back to watch this. This is like my 20th time in the past year there's just something satisfying about watching Seyoon make kimchi
