I thought so too initially because I didn't know anything about Irving but what the media said. I was skeptical about blaming his personality because the media has always been evil and immoral but seeing flashes of his game he did seem ball dominant and I thought we would have a clash of two titans and their egos with both unwilling to capitulate. The first season the mavs went from 3rd to out of the play offs and I thought it was over and that Irving would sign else where and wouldn't have been mad at that time based on the results. But the humility is the biggest key to this. They clearly genuinely love and respect each other. They want eachother to be their self and have found that thin line that makes them both work on a championship level. Like I said their humilty is the key and Irving being more experienced and proven in the greatest league called for him to be insanely humble for a professional athlete. Normally they aren't humble at all, but this is deep humility. It will lead them to a championship and perhaps multiple.

Y’all were hating on Kyrie for years and now that he’s playing with the best player in the league and winning everyone wanna be a fan… I’ve been saying for years now that this guy was the reason why lebron won in Cleveland. He is great regardless of what his personal beliefs or opinions may be, but people tried to used his beliefs and opinions to smear him and downplay his greatness. Don’t do that. Let people be who they want to be.

As a Celtics fan, seeing how Kyrie was mentally in shambles on the Celtics and had no happiness, seeing him thrive now is awesome. I feel happy for him. Sadly, if they make it to face Boston, he will be booed tremendously by the fans that don’t see the whole story. He is a changed person and a great teammate now, his experience in Boston and Brooklyn matured him.
