Its great to hear how plants got her out from a bad chapter in life! I'm sure many people could relate to that too. I have fond memories of climbing trees and plucking fruits in my grandparent's fruit farm, and my childhood home had a garden where I helped my parents water the lawn and our plants. I now live in a high-rise and realise that my houseplant "addiction" could just be me reconnecting with the joys of the days gone by :D

Miss Leidy, I really did enjoy hearing the story of you turning over a new leaf in yourself and reconnecting with the happy times, growing plants with your beloved grandparents. A child trying to recreate a proper jungle for the birds. Now, one of your expert skill sets is creating plant specimens equal to a botanical garden in some sections of your garden ! Inside and out you have done fantastically well. (I lived and worked in Borneo for many years with a jungle at my doorstep….yes Miss Leidy you are doing very well indeed). I clicked so fast for the drag and plants, and found you to be such a personable and knowledgeable plant nerd…..omg…saying all those plant names effortlessly. What a unique way to sell your plants. Yes, as an aussie, I can verify emus are incredibly long lived and intelligent, and like you have very, very long eyelashes.

“Spiraled into plants” if that ain’t me. My mother was abusive, but she had a green thumb and taught me the trade. Life hasn’t been kind to me, but plants and nature were always my solace. I received a Christmas cactus for Christmas. Like Miss Leidy said, didn’t have roots yet: when i finally decided to have a home-base apartment (I travel a LOT) i received an orchid and an umbrella plant as gifts for my housewarming party. Suddenly, I found myself so much happier with these plants around! So, I started my plant journey! I started with succulents-killed all of the original five that began my plant journey, but have some propagations from one of them. After a looot of practice and a lot of KZbin videos, I’m starting my own indoor plant paradise! Pothos, Philodendron, African Violet, Snake Plant, Spider Plant, four Orchids, christmas cactus, aloe Vera, hobbit jade, two loquats, two date palms, peace lily, flamingo plant, Pencil Cactus (firestick), air plant, umbrella plant, Schneerose, lavender, prayer plant, and an outdoor wild succulent box (I’m in the alps, so succulents that live outside are limited. All ethically foraged from nature. Hen and chicks, several sedum types, just a mod podge of things). Next on my list to get is a bromeliad. I want to bring my English ivy in from outside. Giving up on Cyclamen; I can’t get them to come back year after year.
