I just repotted my pothos that was like 5 years old that wrapped around my living room. And I measured it and it a a couple feet short of 40 feet long! It was in a 8 inch pot and I upgraded it to a 12 inch pot since it’s roots were insane. The vines were so thick too!

Suzanne here, i do love pothos, i hate to admit how many i have, haha cause people freak out when they come to my house, anyhow around 50 or more, now i have 1100 sq foot house, and more than 350 plants , and more than 50 are pothos, my other passion are snake plants and about the same amount of those, plus my other fav, thanksgiving cactus , because i can never find the christmas one, i love them all, thanks so much .

Your pothos are beautiful, great tip using the pillow case, thanks. I wish my pothos were long enough to need a pillow case. It’s my own fault though, I keep cutting and propagating the clippings to add back into the plant for bushy-ness. On another note, I noticed that each of the garage door windows behind you reflects a different image making them look like pieces of landscape artwork 🖼 hanging there. Your view must be gorgeous. Thanks for another interesting video.

You're so welcome Dori! I'll be taking some cuttings soon so I can do a tutorial. It does help to force some bushiness to the top of the plant. I have a hedge of Oleander & a 30' Pine across from my garage so that's what you see. I have a lot of birds around. Nell

Thank you for clarifying that potting soils are actually a soiless mix! I usually get confused watching videos that say soiless mix but use a bag of potting mix! Clears up the confusion!

Wow! Nell, what a great idea to use a pillow case for the Pothos trails! You know, I've got a Pothos growing up a trellis, and the trails are approx. 5 meters long. You can imagine that I dread transplanting the plant for fear I might damage my beauty severely. I might consider repotting the plant now that I've seen you doing it. Thanks a lot, Nell! Best wishes from Berlin to the Arizona desert! Marc
@JoyUsGarden5 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc from Berlin! The pillow case trick works well. The Pothos leaves bruise easily so this trick really helps to prevent damage. Nell

haha i would have broken them doing that, so i lay a sheet flat for large ones, but normally i take cuttings and shorten the plant, then start the ends in water, much eaiser for me

@@JoyUsGarden I recently repotted my caladiums and brought them inside to be houseplants (was that all too shocking to happen at the same time) and now they are starting to droop, I am really nervous because I do not know what to do. I don't know if I should cut the droopy/brown leaves? If it needs more sun?If it got too much water? ugh I really do not want to lose my pretty plant.

Great video! I bought a 10inch pot totem pothos and I noticed roots showing at the top and a few stringy ones coming out of the bottom so I know I’m going to have to repot this big beauty. So my question is if the plant is root bound should I prune the roots? And if so do I cut the bottom roots? Or should I just leave the roots alone? .....TIA!
