I hate my little cactus that has thousands of the tiny tiny white needles. 100s of them stick in you instantly and they are impossible to get out cuz you can't see them and/or they break with parts still in you. I have over watered and underwatered hoping it will "accidently" die but the prickly bitch is thriving.

I have a philo lickity split. My mom got it in 1991 and its huge. We've never have a pest issue with it. It even survived being stranded in a moving pod for 3 weeks during the summer. ( three weeks in a metal box in the middle of summer with no water, no fresh air..nothing ) Its a bullet proof plant IMO. Sorry you had such a bad experience. Also alocasias are HEAVY feeders. fertilize fertilize fertilize. Also keep it in as warm of a room as you can in the fall-winter. Alocasias do not like to get cold or they start to go dormant and lose leaves.

2:35 I have found that aglaonema prefer to have their soil dry out quite a bit before being watered. And although most sources say it’s low light, I have noticed that mine prefer medium bright light.

I got a black velvet alocasia without knowing about the leaf cycle. I started with 3 leaves. Then, one died and I was devastated. Until…a larger one grew in its place! So, I think I’ve cycled through those original 3 since I now have 4 larger leaves. I noticed a 5th one coming in this week. We’ll see what happens! 🤞🏾

Yeah. I’m looking at my one leafed Frydek. Honestly, I’d like the space for a different plant, but I do love the one leaf and it’s very much not dead and I also feel like we’ve been through so much together that I don’t want to give it away. I hear you Harli on Alocasia's. I used to have big full lush Black Velvet, Polly, and Bambino. Then I guess they heard me bragging and decided to brown their leaves and go dormant. Next for me would be Peperomia's. I LOVE the leaves on the Watermelon, the Purple ripple, the Green, and variegated. But they don't like me, and Aglaonema's hate me too. 🤷🏽‍♀

I have also a philodendron subhastatum for almost 3 years now. Received it as a small tiny baby cutting. At first it grew like crazy. Than it slowly started to dye back. In the beginning I gave it too much love and too much water. I learned to let it be. Less water, less to almost no fertilizer. Close to the window, but not too bright. Now it is thriving and the colors are bright and vibrant. Since I put it on a higher stand it even grows faster. It constantly gives me new leaves. It is a diva and wants to be on top of everyone. Pretty happy with it. I hope yours will also start thriving again. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏻🪴

I have the same problem with the Aglaonema Anyamanee Tricolor. I got one after seeing it in your Houseplants You Might Not Know About 2022 video. I was in South Florida at the time and it was on an east-facing screened-in balcony; very high humidity all the time; I think I was careful with the light, but it was just very unhappy and I gave it away. I moved to another state and got another one last summer. It's indoors by a north-facing window but also near a grow light and a humidifier. I cannot figure out what it wants. The prettiest leaves are the deep-colored ones, but they don't stay that way; the leaves either come in sort of faded-looking or they turn that way and eventually die, although it continues to put out new growth. I have an Aglaonema Red Emerald that is so easy, just grows and grows and is quite beautiful. But the Anyamanee, I just can't figure out what it wants.

I will never buy another peace Lilly. They're beautiful, but I always have an issue with brown edges. Any plant I've had that has died twice in my care, or sometimes even once, I wouldn't buy again

Hi Harley!!! I love all of your videos , you have inspired me to propagate (which I love doing) and sell some plants on Facebook marketplace. I actually came across a video the other day and the person said some plants are patented and you can not propagate and sell them so I researched and it is true. I had some Manjula pothos almost ready and I had just done another propagation box with some more and then found this out. It was surprising to me. So anyway I was wondering if you look up to see if the plants you sell are not patent and where you find this information? I have looked but honestly it gets a little confusing and I was hoping for a sight that was easy to read where they have all of this information. Thank you in advance!!! Love you!!!💕🥰

Just found your channel! I almost purchased a Lickety Split recently. Thrips? 😮 I would die if my other plants got infested! For me, I will never buy another Fittonia, Aglaonema Siam, succulents, and ferns of any kind. Killed the Fittonia on purpose. Neediest plant I've ever owned! 🙄 The Siam keeps dropping leaves. I'm going to try to reroot a cutting to see if I can make it look better. Succulents are dead in my hands. Maybe not enough light in my house? I've never kept a fern happy. They turn brown in the center and look awful. Peace Lily used to be on my no list until I bought a really big one. Now it's my favorite plant!! I love most philodendrons too. I'm trying a Begonia Rex. Let's see if I kill that! You made me feel better about not succeeding with certain plants. Thank you!

I won’t buy a philodendron montrose again. They are cute when small, but then they need a trellis or pole and become too big of a hassle. I’ll enjoy them from afar.

I live 80 miles south west of Houston, Tx…all of the plants you listed grow very well here planted outside, if it freezes they all Pop back out in the spring, even the caladiums, I never remove caladiums or amarillo bulbs from the soil, philodendron, alocasia, they all freeze and come back out.!!! Maybe you should think about moving south.!!!

Probably won’t buy another pink princess. Leaves get sucks and the variegation is unstable. Also, creeping fig… it sheds and currently in my garbage after I under-watered.

I would recomend growing your cissis upward not hanging for bigger leaves. Also mabe your hasturtum would appreciate growing on a moss pole? Better humidity and stability. What plant would i never buy again? Probably aglonemias and allocasias and caladiums. I say that but yet still get sucked in because they so pretty.

Some on my not again list are: Spider plants, most Calethias, most Alocasia, Crotons, Caladium, Cissus, Dieffenbachia, Begonias, Poka Dot plants, String of..., Asparagus ferns, and Ivy. A plant that I will probably keep buying no matter how many times I kill it is the Maidenhair fern, sigh.

Hi Harli. I watch you all the time but I have never messaged you. I think your KZbin videos are great. As I get older I have less patience and will click right passed you if you bore me. Lol probably missing out on good plant content but there it is. I had to retire early and my children are all grown so I have wanted to really test myself and get my wishlist plants. I have 15 coming from Indonesia ( which I will visit someday) and I am really worried. Living in Ohio there's not much chance I can create their total environment. I waited till spring to really kick off my shopping. I have alot of plants you find everywhere but there's alot in this order I have been dying to see in person. Anyhow I will try not to take up much time so one was question for today? I thought liquid dirt was expensive but you were using it. Are you still into liquid dirt? I was busy but trying to listen and thought I heard you say you were not using it still. It's been a while.?

Coleus. They are absolutely beautiful. I love the foliage. But mine always get infested by Ensign Scale that eats and dries it up. I've tried everything and I'm so tired of being heart broken. If anyone has tips for care of coleus, please share.

My Amazonica was so beautiful last summer, it sat outside in the humidity up in Minnesota and just loved it and thrived. Then winter happened. ☹️I brought it inside, and the dryness just totaled it. There might be four or five leaves left on that thing and I put the humidifier on too… Oh well, whatchya gonna do?

aloe vera, why would one need more jk, it's an overgrown withered mess and like always i don't know if it's gonna make it after replanting everything, but still been around almost half my life, looked very different every time it grew and mostly been neglected. unable to make it look healthy but also unable to kill it. either way it's gonna live at my moms place since i gave her some seedlings, she also gave some to my sister.

For me it’s a Boston fern or any fern that isn’t “somewhat tolerant” (have the heart leaf fern and rabbits foot fern and get along well with them but no Boston fern). Also no tradescantia. I grew a few types before and just hate how leggie they can get. They are somewhat easy but just don’t think they are for me (maybe I’ll love them again, who knows) Also for me I transferred my frydek to pon and honestly all of my Alocasia and it was the best decision. Easier care, can keep up with the waterings and yea. Also I do feed mine a lot

The Hoya Burtoniae is hilarious. So many of us just want our hoyas to bloom and they don't! LOL. Mine are no more alocasias. I just do everything for them and can't keep them happy. Back to Hoyas, I have a curtisii that's very cute but it just always seems on the verge of death, no matter what I do. So yeah, no more of that one if this one doesn't make it.

An accomplished gardener I know grows the subhastatum as a crawling plant. I saw it in an outdoor garden he did in Brazil and the plant looked very happy and sexy. I will try and imitate him. 6 plants that I have tried several times and would not grow again are 1) Alocasia micholitziana 2) Anthurium warocqueanum 3) Philodendron Luxurians 4) Violets 5) Philodendron Brazil 6) Begonia Rex "Silver dollar"

Harli please reconsider the frydek, it's such a gorgeous plant. The leaves are one of a kind! I have mine growing in leca at the moment and it's loving it on it's 7th leaf next to an East window. Ambient Utah air! I'm sure you'd love it if you gave it another shot, in the way way future when you are ready! 😜💙

Ferns are a no for me. They don’t live long at my house. Every few years I forget that and buy a new one. Also Caladiums. I think they’re absolutely beautiful but I won’t get another for the same reasons you have.
