I have two rocks I found in a national park in South Africa, and they are actually fossilized bits of trees. You can see the structure of the wood in it. They're beautiful. A special memento from a special moment of my life.

I've tried team plant. I think back fondly on how excited I was to get my first cactus. They don't grow where I live, so it seemed like a piece of some far away land. For a brief stint in college I tried buying exotics from walmart, and potting cool things from outside. Giving them enough sunlight was always the problem in the dorm, and they'd always decline slowly into dullness. Before I capitulate to team rock, I think I'll try growing fungi.

So to you, does Croschanico represent more plant or rock? To me he kinda holds both attributes even though he physically images a plant... but he's not alive. He is xylem and phloem-less. He can't personally relate with his plant neighbors who remind the humans that life is fleeting. He almost steers more towards a rock to me. Or is he truly in the middle? 2:05 the zoom out sfx had to be some crazy niche deep dive internet find. Or it was just organic.

May I offer some constructive criticism? When you shoot on film you should also be EDITING on film. Digital titles juxtaposed onto film footage look jarring. They don't mesh well at all. One way you maybe could do titles if they are white is cut out a stencil, shine a flashlight through it from below, point your camera at it, and then perform a double exposure. As for titles in other colors (e.g., the Kodak logo in the credits) you could use colored gels on the flashlight or stencil. The same applies to digital transitions such as fades. Historically things such as a fade-to-black would have been done on an optical printer, and though I'm not sure if you could get access to one of those, what you could do instead maybe is use a variable neutral density filter on your lens live while shooting and slowly increase it to make the image darker and darker to fade out, and then for the next shot do the reverse to fade in. Another thing I would recommend is recording your completed digital audio tracks to cassette tapes and then recording them back to digital to get an analog sound to better match the images! Other than that though your videos are awesome, love that you are shooting on film and the writing and editing is top notch!
