I do like this kind of houses, it is neat to have all houses alike so the street looks cozy. and if there are 2-3 bedrooms that would be the best for a small family. I grew up in a decent sized house but still your architecture is the best - it is rational and cozy.

Awesome explanation about houses in Canada. I lived in Canada for 12 years and, incredibly, I never learned nothing about being a house owner because I was always a tenant where the utilities were always included. A lot of people ask me here in my country what is the utilities matter like. I would like you to explain us a little about that, especially with the water and taxes: does an owner have to pay water? If so, how often? Is it the same price all across Canada? What about taxes for being a house owner? I would really appreciate your explanation. Thank you.

Reminds me of some of the communities I've seen in the UK. Row after row, and street after street; all looking the same.
@dragonlady80706 жыл бұрын
These houses look nice from the front. If the distance between the houses is a little wider, the whole community will look better.
@MadEnglishTV6 жыл бұрын
You're right! 😃
@hannguyen86406 жыл бұрын
The older communities have larger back yards and wider lots. The newer communities don't. Cities like Calgary and Edmonton are facing a problem they refer to as 'city sprawl'. If everyone wants to live in a house with a big yard and has bigger spacing between homes it would create a less dense population for that area. The city would have to expand outwards at a much quicker rate. So what they do is make the lot sizes smaller and also every new 'area' has to have apartment condos, duplexes, town houses, etc to keep the density higher. This reason is to prevent 'city sprawl'. It is more efficient for a city to have higher density. That means a lot less infrastructure cost because less roads are needed, less distance of public transit (bus or rail), power lines, water lines, sewage lines needed. This will keep cost down and property tax lower.
@LucasFernandez-fk8se6 жыл бұрын
Dragonlady the high density actually makes the detached houses look better in this case because of the design if they are about 20-30ft wife meaning that they only need about 10 ft spacing to look good where as 40-50 ft wide houses need 20-30 feet between houses and 60-70 ft need 40+ feet distance between houses to look good

Good video on showing Calgary homes but I hope this does not create a misconception of Canadian houses as they are not a good representation of all houses in Canada. These modern homes were built with cost-cutting in mind as they use metal siding and no bricks. Thus, they will not have as much emphasis in design or reliability as they are not built with bricks and other amenities. I live in Canada and I see that there are beautifully styled homes in BC and Toronto, and Quebec with some looking from the Victorian era. There are many that are built with bricks and also styled differently depending on the "era" styling for homes. Then again, the brick homes with styling cost at least 2x more in popular areas of Canada... and builders are now looking to build cheaper homes that are affordable. Nonetheless, thanks for filming how the neighborhood looked :)
@LucasFernandez-fk8se6 жыл бұрын
Shabadoo from what I've seen they are the best houses in Canada. The other place in Canada has all brick box houses and they ruined brick for me for like a day. Apparently the houses here in Canada are enormous. Not to forget that Canada so much lands to offer. The concept of the houses here are quite similar to my country. The duplex ( terrace house) costs about RM800k, condominiums costs roughly RM500k to RM900k, townhouses RM900k to 1 million. However it's depends on the location of the properties. Undeniably all these duplex or terrace houses are cookie-cutter. It's the same here in my country, unless you buy a piece of land in outskirts, build a bungalow of your own design. It could costs more than this if the property is located in the town centre. Furthermore, the price of the property is also depends on the total built up area. For a condominium built up area 900 square feet ( two bed rooms)located at the down town, it may costs up to RM900k. The maintenance fee per month is also depends on the built up area of your property. Nowadays it's not cheap to buy a property here either, Mark.

Elukha all houses in America and Canada are wood framed then have poly-vinyl siding on the outside (shown ) brick in the outside as a facade in America or a wrap around in Canada or houses have Hardie plank which is cement beams designed to look like wood (American south ) or they have stucco / faux stucco (American south west and 1990s colonials)

im from ontario, i have a love/hate relationship with how the new houses are being built across ontario. there are some subdivisions made by a specific contracter/company that just make all the houses look the same (while being big). i hate that. Also there are other subdivisions that have very good looking new houses that are also VERY big which i love....HOWEVER.....a trend thats been happening for over a decade is that new houses keep getting bigger while their properties keep getting smaller. which i hate. New houses barely even have a backyard anymore and i am NOT exaggerating by any means. anyone who lives around the golden horseshoe will know what im talking about.

Kevin L I think poly vinyl siding is better for the cold temperatures as its used all over the north east and Midwest in America and its clearly used in Canada ALOT so it's probably more durable than having a brick facade or wood or Hardie plank siding on a house. Or at least it's the cheapest I'm not sure which.
