Woke up today and had the feeling to listen to this. Lately I've been suicidal, overdosing my prescription medications by 50mgs and slowly working it up. It always hits me when I hear these two lines: "What if death is just another pair of handcuffs"...and "And maybe God is just another cop we can fast talk". As I sit right now in my life, it feels like I'm chained to my trauma and pain inflicted from others. Handcuffed. When I think of death, it brings me peace. Yet I also know what comes after life is unknown. Maybe, God is just another cop I can fast talk into letting me into heaven. A ghetto with no bad blocks. The peace I've been searching for, and the neverending freedom I'll feel as if I overdosed and knocked myself out.

I don’t like a lot of contemporary music. Most of it’s a wasteland of disposable refuse. But every now and then there’s a real gem that transcends linear time. And this is one of those rare moments. I’m 53. I used to do a lot of psychotropics and hallucinogens. I have no regrets, but having a family I’m responsible to now has tempered me and brought me in line with the rest of the mortal souls. This song reminds me of me when life was carefree and the boundaries were only there to be pushed. Watching this video I can tell this guy has been to the “other side” a few times too. You can see it in his eyes. That’s something that cannot be faked. There’s nothing like being a passenger in a car with a few good friends tripping on LSD and MDMA simultaneously. Watching the world pass by in a blur of splendor and wonderment. Did it in Vegas once too. I remember thinking too myself “it’s just like I thought it would be”. I wanted to verbalize it, but I couldn’t. It was simply too amazing to put into words. And the the warm desert air whipping my hair into my face...I’ll stop there. You get the picture. Anyways, great song.

I was driving my very short drive home from work not too long ago and this song came on the radio. I ALMOST missed it cause I was flipping channels and wasn't really prepared to digest a new song right then. But immediately I was like 'hmm, this sounds nice,' next thing you know I'm sitting in the gas station parking lot singing along for a minute and a half before I could go inside and get my beer and swishers. I've heard this song at least once every day since then OUTSIDE of my head, and I can't say how many times INSIDE my head. I really like this video, a lot. The concept worked perfectly. Thank you. Good luck with your career.
