One of the TDs owns sixteen rental properties. Where did he get the money from to buy 16 properties? How in this day and age is this moral? As well as drawing his fat TD salary, not to mention whatever money he makes from using his position as a TD. how could he possibly be interested in supporting anything that curbs the gains of landlords? It'd be a bit like the turkey voting for Christmas. They talk about this Govt. building more social housing than any other Government since the formation of the State. This is absolutely untrue. Thousands and thousands of houses were built in the 40s and 50s to accommodate those moving out inner city tenements. Areas like Crumlin and Drimnagh and Ballyfermot sprung up in a few short years. There is simply no will on the part of this Government to take the huge commitment to building that this crisis requires.

Why do landlords pay cgt tax on sale of a property and then pay 30% on the remainder they give to children when farmers pay no inheritance tax.
