Awesome guide! I just purchased my first house in Falathorn! I've been looking for an MMO to call my new home for the past year and a half (WoW refugee and all.) I think I can confidently say LOTRO is that new home. And now I have a home within my new home! Now I just need to find a kinship!

I played both back in the day both good. But lotro is my love because I love Tolkiens lore and how they put game together. I mean that's what I started a channel haha. Would be nice if one day they could create a housing system that didn't rely on hooks. In the end every house seems the same with this system. Would be nice to have a full MMO with a housing sub system like Minecraft where you can build whatever you want. We're probably 100 years from that.

True. But I will add, after they updated the hook system to let you move the item pretty much anywhere then just the same spot on the wall. It's better then pretty much any other mmo housing system from that. But I like your idea.

Haha no. You will get the house you want. They have multiple Dimension. They will even add more housing areas if they run out. But that never happens there's always openings. From my own experience.

​@@VoiceoftheRings my kinship leader and I were just discussing yesterday upgrading from a small to a medium now. A year later and the festival items are really overflowing as I love to collect at least 1 of everything. And a year later I am level 50 on my main now and able to make the gold easy enough to upgrade, from dailies alone. I'm assuming I lose the upkeep I've prepaid if I sell my hhouse now? It's currently April and the anniversary, and I prepaid to August 1st.

@@VampguyN85 I think so. If you sell a Normal House and move to another one You lose the Ingame Money (In the Past) I am not sure that is the Same Anymore. Since they Updated Housing Storage and Kinship Houses. So there is a chance you will keep those upgrades if you sell and buy new. A very High chance if you Upgraded in the LOTRO store too. The only one I think Might still love you Money is a Kinship House. But, They may have that Storge you Baught Tied to the Kinship house now. So You may be fine! I just give you the warning. Love to Hear if It keeps all your Upgrads now! I think it might.

@@VoiceoftheRings thank you so much Unfortunately I have one of those 3440x1440 21:9 monitors with a 3080 pushing it, but the 1.3 ui scale is fuzzy. it really does strain the eyes but anything smaller and you can missclick tons of stuff. can't wait for the revamp

I wish FFXIV had a similar system. But I'm not sure if that can be achieved or not with the larger player base.

Ya, I'm not sure there player base is larger. Alot of people think lotro is a small game. It was bigger then Guide wars 2, 3 years ago. That was when Guide wars was huge. But I agree, it be cool if FFXIV could also use the system like lotro for housing. I think housing would be cool in that. I'm not sure why they don't put more housing systems into other mmos. @@VoiceoftheRings Yeah I did a bit of research on that a few hours ago while I was waiting to pick up a pizza. And it sounds like as of right now, FFXIV has a playerbase of 35.8 million subscribers and LOTRO has 2.5 million. So that's quite a vast difference. Though one thing I found out that's kind of nice to hear, is that LOTRO has been picking up in subscribers since February. So that's nice! I will say that FFXIV does have neighborhoods like in LOTRO called wards, but FFXIV has far less wards, than LOTRO has neighborhoods. I think the last time I played FFXIV, they had roughly around 20 wards per server, per housing district. (they have 4, maybe 5 housing districts if Ishgard housing was released) Either way, FFXIV housing is a hot mess and I really hope they fix it to accommodate for their playerbase. If LOTRO can do it, then I feel like they can too.

I just came from FFXIV and heh the playerbase is without doubt bigger, I don't say this as if it is a competition or anything, it is just impossible to avoid the fact that it simply is bigger mm.. Their housing systems is what you said Tea G, a lot more exclusive, and their "fix" now is for the houses to be given through a lottery system. People were literally camping and clicking a sign-post for 12+ hours before this coming (if it has not already been implemented) patch so. But yeah FFXIV's issue with housing is not necessarily the playerbase, well if you want this exact kind of system then you can argue that the playerbase plays a part, but yeah it is more the fact that you need physical servers which they are not quite inclined to invest in I think. We are at the end of the day, customers and consumers, and when all is said and done it's business as usual heh ^^
