This is film footage from Stovall's Cycle (BSA,Triumph, Norton, Yamaha) Dallas Texas. Stovall's was active in the dirt track tt races of the 1960's into the 1980's.

Michele - Mark Williams rode for my Dad and uncle (The Love Brothers) for a short while. I believe at the time his number was 70. I was a preteen at that time and when Mark was in our town (Palmdale CA) he'd ride with my brother and I while Dad worked on the bike. Those were great times and Mark was lots of fun to be around. It was terrible when he was severely injured and I believe it was one of the reasons my Dad and uncle "retired." I'll never forget the the fun we had with Mark.

Great footage. One Saturday in 1968 I walked the mile or so from the house to the California Rodeo Grounds, paid a couple of bucks and saw most of these riders on the six furlong dirt track. Gary Nixon won that one. Don Castro was the local favorite.

This is really cool, my best friend #70 Mark Williams is in the 1st and 3rd segment and can be seen coming around the corner into the camera twice in the middle of the video. He was paralyzed from the waist down at this same track in 1975. He died January 21st of 2012 after living 36 years in a wheelchair. He would have been thrilled to see this video. Thanks for posting it.

#70T was Barry Briggs from New Zealand world speedway champion on a long track bike with a 250 twin Yamaha road racing engine. Silly bugger fell off in the first race by the looks of it.

I talked to Mark on the phone about 30 years ago. I was trying to get information on one of his short track, Trackmaster, frames that I own. He told me that he personally did not keep track of his racing career, but that his mom kept all of his racing photos. I would love to get in touch with anyone that might have info/photos of this bike. The frame has his initials and the gas tank is a custom paint job, by Crisp, with Marks initials and a tiny graphic. Any help is very much appreciated.
