I've seen the school of large bass there too. They are hard to catch. I use live perch and catch way more fish that way than using lures. I'm not sure why.
@BrscMC10 жыл бұрын
live bait is what they eat, so they're more likely to eat that then a lure.
@SaltwaterMesquiteManZ7110 жыл бұрын
Most definitely. I go to the round pavilion near the tall cattails. Use the smallest hook you can buy like 0/6 but smaller. Get a piece of white bread wet and roll it into a sticky dough ball. Then break off a piece 1/8" diameter. Just big enough to cover the tip of the hook. Use it as bait to catch a perch. Then use the perch as live bait for the bass. I free line the perch near cattails or sight fish at the handrails. A cast net will get you perch a whole lot faster too. I caught a 22" largemouth there. I don't work in that area anymore so February was the last time there. Good luck!

@nz41209 жыл бұрын
Are they good to filet/eat? like is the water source clean enough. Also, I noticed you commented that you don't like eating from smaller ponds. Im new to fishing and live in houston, thinking of coming here for my first try at fishing. Do you know any bigger/better spots I should go to if I want to eat the fish?
@AntVenturer.9 жыл бұрын
This is just me as a bass fisherman I would suggest not eating bass at all maybe something that is better tasting imo like panfish but if you do eat them eat only medium sized ones 2.5-3 pounders otherwise you kill all the breeders I fish for fun though so I don't have any inclination to eat them
@BrscMC9 жыл бұрын
+Black Thug Life I don't eat out of ponds or bayous. Lakes, Rivers, Bays, or the Gulf. Large body of waters I will harvest from, but that's just my opinion.

Do you catch and release or catch and eat? Don't care which one, just wondering.
@BrscMC9 жыл бұрын
I don't eat out of small bodies of water. You eat all the big fish there wont be any to catch, and you ruin it for everyone else.
