So he takes a lot of cash on this scheme and now he wants and receives a taxpayer funded public defender. Fabulous!

1,090000. He stole. He should be able to pay his bond. Hopefully his finances have been frozen. Greedy criminal. What a crime against the American people and the innocent children. We are all victims in this case.

My wife and I would like to know how the students did with the fraudulently certified teachers. If the students didn't suffer, perhaps the certification isn't a meaningful indicator of teacher performance. Houston ISD assistant principals start at $85,000 per year, teachers at 65,000 per year. They were charging $2,500 to get a $65,000 a year job?

I work in Education in Texas. Yes, the children suffered. Houston ISD is so terrible that the TEA had to take it over. Also, the premise of your statement is part of the problem. It is idiotic to even suggest that teachers not take a standardized certification test when we require their students to do so. This is Education, not volleyball. Lessening requirements is only a solution for the uneducated, uninformed, and lazy.

However knowingly cheating the system. $2,500 per test. Probably even had test questions. Take the test once to get questions and then research the answers. You got the test and answers. A few tests you’d probably have most questions.

@@BeachCity the test is so simple that a high school student who had taken advanced placement tests would pass it. That doesn’t say much about the ability of those teachers to impart knowledge. It says less about their ability to behave ethically. Two of them were sex offenders.

Disgusting behavior. And then school systems and politicians wonder why honest people don't want to teach. Just look at this mess. The unions will protect all these people-----always do.
