Yea, ask for a signed guarantee that if qualified immunity is taken from police the city will guarantee the immunity to you. Next, get a signed guarantee that if shot in the line of duty, you will be taken care of even after they fire you because your sick time ran out. THEN contact Dallas PD and find out about their bonuses and how many officers still have IOU’s. Lastly, you wear the badge for yourself, the community DOES NOT WANT YOU. The city government needs another body! BTW, the last time either of those supervisors knew what the community wanted was when the the chief told them and they where behind a desk… FYI

They are. Liberal judges give criminals low or no bail and the DAs office don't always take charges or other judges let them out before serving their entire sentence.

Law enforcement is the worst career, super low pay, high risk of loosing ur life, going to jail or getting fired. Recruiting process is a headache. Btw what job can u get after being fired from the police force? U have no skills!

FYI,,I'm a retired county sheriff, 25 yrs. My eldest grandson a mid sized city,,,Police Officer. We BOTH DISAGREE with your view. YES it's a damn hard profession. Not for everybody. But No Regrets from me. Nor is my Grandson thinking of doing anything else. Though he has the skills n education to be doing something else n likely making 3× or more the $ n less hours n stress.

@@serg320 Well,,I have No Regrets. I doubt he will either. He,especially thought Long n Hard on his career choice. He's well aware of the modern difficulties in modern policing. It's a True CALLING not all understand nor can do. He WAS N CAN.

But it still takes twice as long to become a barber than it does to get a law enforcement certification. How about this, instead of recruitment bonuses, put that money into expanding the training process. Better training and vetting are the only solutions to the problem. The FBI requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree. That should be the minimum for any cop. But more importantly, there has to be an overhaul of the entire psychological evaluation process. Not everyone has the mental capacity to wear a badge.
