It’s sad that people overlook this and instead of agreeing and pushing the government of opening more tracks and keeping old ones, they agree to put harsh laws on us and try to further tear our community apart because of their selfishness

I lived in Baytown, off Cedar Bayou road, when it was built. I could hear the cars, especially on Saturdays.

It's time to legalize Street Racing. Those guys and girls aren't doing anything wrong or hurting anybody. Build some new roads and freeways, close them off to the public and the speed demons race their Tuner cars in peace without the police causing them any trouble. Street Racing is the future and should get legalized sometime during the 2020 decade. The companies need to start building new racetracks across the US with 4 lanes to race on, not just 2 cars anymore.

Street racing should not be legalized due to the dangers it can pose for pedestrians and other civilians. BTW, "building "new roads and freeways" and "closing them off to the public" is just going to be a recipe for disaster because there's a better solution. SUPPORT. THE. BUILDING. OF. MORE. PERMANENT. RACING. FACILITIES.

Wrong. Racing should only be done at raceways or drag strips where there are people to 1) make sure your care is safe to race and 2) there’s proper safety equipment and personnel on hand if something goes wrong.

Police: No no no no, thats not how it works. More race tracks closing, the more money we get by issuing tickets! :D Protesters: *INTENSIFIES THE TAKE OVERS!!!*

This is absolutely saddening and stupid. Racetracks encourage enthusiasts to keep racing on the track. Now that is taken away...so in response I have no sympathy for the city when street racing increases.

I hope another company will buy the track so the people and the youth have a safe place to race. Racing is in my family and I'm saddened when I hear tracks closing.

Saw many a world record set in Houston. Absolutely great track. Maybe even #1 Friday night qualifying is like nothing else and yes I remember the half track burnouts from Force, Al Hoffman, Skuza, Wilkerson and more.
