Why do people think Alpy and Jalen green can't play together ? Alpy plays all-over the court high post low post 3 pt line , the dunker position and he's a elite passing big man. And he runs the floor . This is crazy

Of course, Alperen and Jalen can be great together. I think Coach Udoka is the one who killed Jalen. Look at Şengün with the ball in the paint. The other 4 players are waiting at the three-point line. Even Coach Silas wasn't doing that. If there was a player running inside, watch Alperen's assists. Give Jalen and the others some leeway, Udoka. Brooks also doesn't have to get that many minutes. He doesn't contribute much to the team. Alperen is not a player who slows down the team. The slowing ram is Udoka. Give the ball to Alpi and let the others watch. Is such a tactic possible? I think Udoka is not a good coach.

Yo do not have to go too far back. At the beginning of the season, The Rockets were winning games against big teams while Alpi and Jalen were playing together. In December 2023, Jalen started playing really bad. His shots started not dropping in. His turnovrs were big. He was simply out of form. Just after the All-start break, they started winning again. They were two out of 3 wins with Jalen and Alpi playing and then Alpi got injured. Do not forget that their last game together was against the Kings and they won that game. Those who are Alpi haters are jealous of him getting national attention and rising to stardom this year.

If Sengun comes back and Jalen starts playing badly I won't justify him. I will not say: "Poor Jalen, he plays badly but it's someone else's fault". I didn't even justify Sengun in the middle of the season when he spent several months below his level. If you play badly it's your fault, simple as that.

I don't think it was overt hate I just think he was trying to light a fire to Jaylen because Jayen at times was looking as lost and dejected as Jordan pool at times. Everyone was critical of Jaylens poor unfocused play. Unfortunately when you show people your young and dumb people will treat you like a goofy kid who dosnt know what the 🤬 they are doing. The tough love pep talk helped a little bit I think. He needs to stop worrying about all these 304s, love and surrender to God, be a family man if that's what he's gonna do and concentrate on his craft.

He can adapt himself to any game style. The moment he shoots %37.5 from 3 and %75 from the line, he will be monster. We have a 30-10-10 guy in our pocket.

Fread pointed out the problem after Jazz mach. "Heavy legs". They were not running this much with Alperen and keeping up this enegy is not possible. Good thing is Alperen and Cam will be back and there will be more time for rest. Team should keep on this pace when Alperen is back and rest Alperen since Jack is doing good. Amen, Jeff and Jabari are alternatives. Alperen shouldn't be back before healing enough. Alperen desires circus passes over scoring. Jalen desires circus shots/dumks over passing. They do the other when what their priority isn't working. Alperen was ballhuging even with his lowback injury because no one could sink the shots. Since he was served as the star of the team he had to act and take the responsibility of scoring. If they play like this he will be releaved and play more of his style. Amen is a great cutter/attacker and out of mind defender for a rookie. He also complements both of their style. People just forget what Alperen had done for rockets. He was giving his all while team was struggling. He prevented a shamefull period of rockets and got injured during that period. He did play injured for months. He will be back even better if the people stop trashtalking the 21 y.o. yougster and demoralise him.

Alpi and Green's contracts were extended for another year. Maximum contracts seem elusive for both players. It seems to me that we may see Alpi on the Warriors or another team next year because Adams and Landale have good contracts. Alpi will get a good contract offer and the Rockets won't be able to match it. It all depends on the Rockets' roster plan going forward

Great podcast guys, a lot of insightful stuff. This idea that the Rockets are simply able to play faster and run more because Sengun is out is an interesting narrative. It does look that way numbers wise, Sengun out, our pace is up. So anyone not watching the full games, either watching highlights or just looking at stats might make the simple assumption that Sengun not being on the floor did this. But anyone who watches all the games probably has a different take. The Rockets starting 5 for most of the season only had one guy who could run the floor like a deer (Jalen). A one man fast break isn't really a sustainable thing nor is it enough to be a "running team." Now you add Amen Thompson to the starting lineup, now you have two freaks of nature who run like the wind. That will bring your pace up big time. The issue isn't Sengun being out, the issue is more so Thompson being in. Thompson creates turnovers, gets rebounds and pushes the team out much faster. If a slow big man was the problem, how is it that we're able to run so much with Landale on the court during this stretch. The key here is Thompson. To keep this pace and take advantage we have to find a way to get Thompson into the starting 5. Like the guys in the podcast said, long term I have a feeling the odd man out is going to be Dillon Brooks. With Thompson and Sengun on the court, it simply makes us better. Amen for the pace we currently have but also Sengun for when we're struggling in the half court offense. There were plenty of sketchy stretches in these past few weeks where having Sengun would have ironed out some wrinkles on offense. This lazy narrative people are pushing that the rockets play better without Sengun or that Jalen is able to run more with Sengun out is nonsense. Again not an opinion many people who actually watch the full games would have. Sengun, Jalen and Thompson. The three headed monster. If these three guys progress the way we hope they will, we could potentially have something really special. Not to mention Cam Whitmore who is only 19 who in my opinion has scary potential himself.

Outstanding pod. Both of you guys hit the nail on the head. I think much of the talk around the NBA is other teams hoping they are able to pick off one of our young stars. If Stone traded one of our stars now the fan base would be so outraged HPD would have to put Stone in protective custody. I think moving any of our young core is off the table IMO. Draft a PG to start grooming or a PF backup center type and run it back with a healthy team. We may already have that which we think we need if we just allow these young guys to finish maturing. I agree with both of you.......Udoka is the key that's unlocking the potential in our core group. The injuries we have suffered this year set us back, but may turn out to be a blessing because it allowed us to see a lot more of the potentail of the whole team. Everytime I think about the fact we are winning without Cam. Alpi. or Tari and another off season of Udoka working with the team how can you not be rxcited about next year.

I understand we can give the contract to one of them as it makes more sense from future roster construction point of view. Well ill put it this way. The previous owners were of different minds sets. Tillman is a entrepreneur whos business dealings directly benefit from the teams successfulness. For this owner (Tillman Fertitta) it wouldnt make alot of sense to simply just over hype the team for sold out arenas when he can really elevate the brand itself. The Rockets owner just has a more business centric vested interest in the overall successfulness of the club. There are great benefits to having the celebrity and pedigree that of a champion. Having deep sustained playoff runs ensures more revenue for the owner than you can imagine. He's serious about winning and its a beautiful thing !

I'm not quite confident they know how to handle the fan base stuck in the Harden era. The city should build a basketball culture around more balanced talents. People are still clamoring for just one hero and playing through whoever that may be. Teams are getting tougher, and you need more weapons to fight different opponents now.
@darealliljable
@darealliljable 5 ай бұрын
@@emrahakbas88 Fertitta dosnt give a shhh. He's gonna give them wins because he wins when the team wins period and likely for his own ego and to bolster his business ventures he will make sure he wins as much as possible. The plans already in motion and it's not stopping. They acquired lots of talent by making Silas lose on purpose in order to do so and I'm sure they paid that man handsomely to do that. That right there was one of the biggest reasons I'm sure Harden wanted to leave and in the way he did. Contractually he couldn't speak on those kinds of things and he wasn't going to wait around while they tank and do top down rebuilds. I'm not excusing Harden I'm just not oblivious to the fact that he wanted to do something now that Houston wasn't capable of providing which in all honesty it was his fault anyways. Upper management should have never acquiesced to his demands to the point that they were completely tied into soo many contracts like that. As far as The Harden era it wasn't a great era in all honesty. Great for his own Legacy as a scorer and all that jazz but as far as him being great for Houston Rockets Culture overall I'm not so sure about that. The way yao,tmac,Dream,Drexler, Calvin and others are isn't the way Harden is or was. Harden isn't synonymous with Houston and frankly that's a good thing for Houston because he still hasn't been able to lead a team anywhere. He was pandered to at the cost of other players and he knew it and that's a bad lockers look. He ran off multiple talents all to scapegoat them in the end when he couldn't close series. Harden/Morey/Dantoni left alot to be desired because of the way they exited the playoff picture each year. Les Alexander to a much lesser degree because he brought tmac and yao which was actually really fun basketball despite only getting out of the first round once. Harden era Rockets was more about Harden than it was a team competing for a championship.

I love this duo…but one question when Roosh stated in another video that he didn’t really take into consideration the development path Jalen chose to go thru (G league) and the lack of accountability with the coaching (Silas) and the bad influences in the locker room (KPJ WOOD) caused some of the bad habits Jalen showed over a 2-3 month span this year. Was that an authentic statement?? or was all the Jalen over criticism for clicks and views?? Because I feel that fans have been pointing these things out and we’ve said that we should let IME get Jalen bought in fully.

Yes it was authentic. My reasoning is that “bad habits” are in relation to decision-making and approach, but that stuff doesn’t touch shooting. Shooting is bad-habit proof. So his inability to shoot is what scared me the most throughout the season, hence the concern and criticism. -Roosh

The owner seems to hire people that think like him. I think the whole Silas debacle was nothing but a obvious situation. They needed assets for free. Losing is the only way to do that so they likely paid Stephen big bread to look like a goof ball for a couple of seasons. I mean it's ugly but it's business. I don't think Silas was that clueless, I don't think People understand how good Sengun is. Language barrier, young kid, all that considered there's no way they could have given him as much playing time as he might have wanted and explained to him why not knowing exactly how he would react, they were trying to lose so they couldn't risk him even drawing too much attention to himself even. All smart business moves. They had been watching Sengun I can guarantee you. Somebody had there eye on him. Rockets are about to be ridiculous.

It is always good to have options. I do not understand some of the Rockets fans. What is bad about having options.

I for one have said going with Sengun over Green is a better future path. This is based off of JGs past 2.5 years of play and lack of maturity. 11-games have not convinced me otherwise...let's see how the rest of the season goes and how next year starts to unfold. JG's new found play is only a blessing for the Rockets, but he still has a lot of work to become a true star player. The fact that the Rockets will have to make a franchise directional move still remains. JG's better play has bought him and the Rockets more time...The deadline for this decision is next year's trade deadline, because of the salary cap they can not keep all 6 of the young 1st round picks. I believe that Sengun and JG will get max contracts in the NBA...maybe Amen (too young to call that one). You call them a Big3...okay...but if you keep those 3 then who will the Rockets lose of Smith, Eason and Whitmore? Maybe 2 of them? Personally, I would not want to lose any of those 3 players. They are 2-way players that can spread the floor (all 3 @ 36% on 3s), attack the rim and that can play lockdown D all at a cheaper rate. I would like them to have a Big2 + Smith, Eason and Whitmore. This is possible because Whitmore makes JG expendable at SG with his 3s and quick slashing to the basket + size and that Amen and Alpi are going to be super great facilitators working together or one can be on the floor at all times. Plus, with these 5 there will be $$ for quality bench players. I think the better JG plays the more they will get in return (future assets), because he is someone a team can build around. I think the Jazz would be a great target for this, because they have a lot of future draft capitol and even a young big man. I am sure Stone thinks of these type of possible trade fits...but will he pull the trigger that one? He will have to decide on at least one of the 6. Frank, Udoka did not sign the Free Agents...The GM does that dude...get REAL. You are still such a Stone Hater...it is not going to kill you to give him props. Do you really think that Udoka is responsible for the player personal moves?...Then why does Tilman pay Stone to do that job? Why not just get rid of him to save $$$? BTW guys, the Rockets DID NOT hire Silas for teaching a bunch of rookie players...They hired him as a promising veteran's coach (Udoka was not available at the time) and Stone got Wood as a third option, but then Westbrook and Harden demanded in-season trades, thus forcing the rebuild...then they were stuck with Silas's contract...so they made the best of it and then released him by not picking up his option year...Doh...call it like it was!

@@ROCKETSCHOPSHOP Frank, some of your commonsense on the Rockets is just plain wrong. The proof is in the pudding...I will say this important point again...lately, even you have said the Rockets are a 40 win team, but their potential this year was as a 50 win team. They were on that path until injuries (Eason...who I believe is the heart of them by example) started happening...13-9 is a .591%. 50 wins within 3 seasons is a phenomenal result for a team that was forced into an unexpected complete rebuild from the GM (who was handed a total messed up situation from the previous Gm) to the coach and to all the players or for that matter any rebuild. Now the Rockets are a MUCH better built franchise via a top quality young core of players with a brighter sustained future due to one of the best cap situations, having a full slate of 1st round draft picks and they are a better led...coached team (could be their best ever). All of this is due to Stone becoming GM and making some incredible moves that many have been questioned, but have turned out to be how the Rockets got to this place.

Noone says but this is season is the last season of seeing Jalen-Sengun together. Why? Its simple, their contracts.. Houston can give only one max contract so Sengun Deserves and also lately Green deserves aswell so front office will choose a direction in the summer its gonna be Green or Sengun, When one of them will get a max other one will get traded, guys this is simple math so we wont see both of them tohether next season and same problem will come next summer between tari and bari and following season between amen and cam.. Its all about the money and contracts so unfortunately the reality is this season was the last season of seeing all of young cores in Houston...

This is one of the problems I hope my magic doesn't run Into. We are the 4th youngest team in the league fighting for the 4th seed in the playoffs. That's a good place to be in. Most of all we have money to give to our young guys. With houston paying van fleet so much money it takes from the young guys. Houston have talent, that they could build around, so to spend that type of money on a mediocre, borderline all star van fleet just ruins a team cap space. Imo.

Neither of you seem to know anything about the game. You are Sengun groupies. You are just saying what helps monetize your platform, at the expense of the team. I will not let people like you guys continue to talk about thinks you clearly know nothing about to me. You always look at the donuts with Senguns game and never the holes in it. Şengün's first three season statistics are better than Pau Gasol's in the same period, except for the number of blocks. You can't reduce Şengün to Longely's level just because Jalen started shooting properly. If you disrespect him like that, he will go to another team. Also, I don't know if you noticed, but Jalen's team is having a hard time when the shots start missing. If you just stay stuck in this pattern, you'll never see the NBA finals.

i am from Turkey and i want Alperen traded this off season. i don't want to watch Alpi scapegoated by Rockets fans for another Jalen underperforming stretch. also i agree with the arguement Jalen better without Alpi. overall they are two players whose play style are different. now there is possibility by time they would grow chemistry and turn a good duo but i think neither Alpi nor the Rockets should lost time with pushing that. i believe Alpi a guy easy to build a contender around despite his shortcomings and things he should improve like shooting. on the other hand the Rockets has plenty of promising prospects in Amen, Cam, Jabari and Jalen they would lean on other than Alperen. so parting ways probably best option for both Alpi and the Rockets

For me trading sengun has nothing to do with green at all. I just don't think sengun is good enough to be the main guy and if he's not the main guy then he's mostly just in the way. But in addition to that, green does seem to play better with the extra space that's there without sengun. And lastly if udoka can create a top 10 defense with sengun, imagine what he can do with a defensive big
