My dad worked security there from around 1980 to 1985. When I was little I would ride with my parents to get his check on Wednesday afternoons since he was off that day. They would usually have his check at the security shack at the entrance. Sometimes we would go into the building a get it. I remember going into the control room several times where all the security monitors were. As a little kid I thought those buildings looked like they had bandaids all over them. The area really doesn't look much different now than it did then. My dad had a heart attack and while out his boss came to the house and laid him off. They were slowly switching to contracted security and it was his turn to go. He got a job at Allied Industries down the street from this site a few months later, but got laid off after a few months because they too were cutting back. This was when the oil crash of 86 happened.

Nice job! I actually spotted this place on a map a couple of years ago and wanted to know more about it, so I drove out to it in hopes of getting more answers, but no luck. Fast forward to now, and I randomly came across your video and got all the answers I was looking for. I checked out a few of your other videos, keep doing what you're doing. I just SUB'd!

This place is locked down, for any Urban Explorers watching i highly suggest you DO NOT try and explore this compound. I tried to explore this a few weeks ago and was immediately surrounded by Military Police and HPD within 10 minutes of entering the facility. DO NOT ENTER THE COMPOUND.

I live on the east side of Houston and just drove through this area this morning to check it out. I'm so excited that this part of town is finally getting some development attention. It's going to be beautiful. Thanks for the video!

So we will end up with cookie-cutter town homes on the east side just like all over the west side. Not sure this is progress.

Hopefully it can look as good as that model and even greater in the next 3-5 years. I've driven past it before when I was delivery driver from 2013-2016. I always look at abandoned spots like that and dream big things about what they could become👍🏾👍🏾

I worked for KBR from 1998 to 2003 before hiring out with the railroad. I did my initial interview and job searches as well as picking up materials from a warehouse on this property. Thanks for the video

Jon Terrell check out hoover galleria tower Alabama, they leased out several floors, however it’s believed to have CIA on the top. It’s a super federal complex hidden in plain site, in and outside of a Mall.
