Ok so I somehow doubt we will EVER see those 2 holding another joint news conference again! That was an interesting exchange they had there on live tv.... 😕

Whitmere was mumbling and giving no actionable information. He was also wrapping up and she, being the only professional of the two, wanted to get the information out to Spanish speakers. WTF is wrong with that? Or do you think a woman should never be so confident? Clearly, the act of expressing bigotry is more important to you than understanding the process of normal communication.

Like they say, we reveal our true colors under pressure. And once again, action speaks louder than words. I can sound like a hero too if I'm catered with a mic, podium and a caring audience. This is not about color, it's about character. By the way, check how easy it is to feed our ego a quick dose of illusive courage. That is if my comment is any indication of that.

JFC! Racist much. She is part of the effort to address all demographics. Whitmere found that an annoyance because he clearly didn't want those who don't speak English to understand the situation. Texas had a record freeze two years ago. They had a record heat wave last summer. You had a record fire, and now, a record storm. The weather patterns have changed. It's time to stop denying what is happening and deal with climate change. If you don't, more people will die, more property will be lost. Start preparing. We have to learn to live with this and start mitigating the damage it will cause. I'm not even talking about changing our carbon footprint. The first thing Texas needs to do is fix their grid. You are on track to have a heat wave worse than last summer. Your grid can't handle the increased usage a hot summer can cause. Prepare

Do you think human beings can stop the natural cycle of climate change? The earth is entering into a grandsolar maximum. The alignment of planets and change in polarity is what affects climate change on earth. You think climate change is because of humans? I never understood why these tornadoes never hit major metropolitan areas I just think it's luck it's always the small towns of 300 people that get completely decimated maybe people will pay attention to climate change when it goes through a major metropolitan area because it's legit.
@michaelshrader513914 күн бұрын
Not true. Tornado's have struck major downtown cities before... I remember when a tornado directly hit a skyscraper in Ft. Worth (or maybe it was Dallas?) about a decade ago blowing out ALL the windows on 1 side and sucking office furniture out of it! There were softball sized hail stones that struck a county fair up near Dallas one spring injuring a lot of carnival riders who couldn't get off the rides fast enough (people were filmed walking around afterwards with blood running from their heads due to getting hit by large softball sized hail stones). Then there was the almost mile wide tornado that wiped one Texas town completely off the map (I forget the name of the place, but every single building in the city was leveled and quite a few people died). Any of this remind you of "The Day After Tomorrow" movie? Yeah it's kinda like that movie in some respects. Global warming can lead to severe freezes and other weather extreme's across the world, and Karma is such a *itch!
@fredtaylor979214 күн бұрын
Statistics....Because towns of a few hundred people are all over the place and major metropolitan cities are not.
@heyerhanson181514 күн бұрын
It has been legit for a long time... Unfortunately there's an over abundance of stupid in texas. It is literally a never ending parade of stupid. And I will bet of illegal aliens immigrants documented or undocumented will be assisting in the clean up. And then they will be welcomed with open arms. Because it suits the governor. I certainly hope that once they're done they're not shipped off to another state where they'll be arrested for vagrancy like maybe florida?
@vaanfluff14 күн бұрын
Large metro cities sometimes affect storms due to the heat and/or pollution. Sometimes the storms coming in seem to split or break, but it can also strengthen a storm and make it worse further down. I'm guessing this is what happened here. It passed through Austin TX and other cities before gaining force and slamming Houston and other small towns along the way.

Bridgeland eh…… I sold my house in 2019 in Bridgeland. I know the people that bought that house are so happy they did because it has a Generac generator that is tied directly into the gas line. I got that generator about a year before I moved because I knew I would need it if I stayed there…… I would have stayed there if God had not told me that I needed to get out of that city, move 500 miles from the coast, completely avoiding the west and the new Madrid area. He actually gave me a couple other specifications saying I only had until March 1, 2020 to get moved because lockdown was coming. That was one hell of a move, but I got settled around March 9 and shortly thereafter (around 2 weeks give or take a day) the world locked down, just like God said it would……. A wise person will move out of that city because the whole thing is about to be underwater permanently, maybe all the way up to Dallas…… You need to move way inland, get to higher ground……. For me, Harvey woke my a$$ up. I knew I was witnessing a biblical storm and it’s also foreshadowing of what’s to come. Nobody in coastal cities believes any kind of end is coming and so they stay, building their houses on sand, ignoring every sign God sends them. If you intend to stay in that city…..get a raft. The sign of Jonah (Luke 11:29-31) is upon us and just like the unwilling prophet Jonah, ain’t nobody gonna take time to say things they’ve already said before when people didn’t listen the first time…… That city is going to be under water soon….permanently. Enjoy your free will cousins!!!! Get a raft.

We too, felt a prophetic imperative to get away from Houston. We moved in 2014 and have a generator now which is activated often. Our infrastructure is breaking down as it ages and becomes too expensive to replace. This amount of people without power will be catastrophic over days and weeks. I expect to see our midsized town hotels filled tonight.

But hey, please keep spending millions of Texas' taxpayer money on bussing potential migrant farm workers to northern states, picking fights with schools, and trying to steal funds from our schools for your little vouchers, because THAT's more important than helping keep the lights on for 1 million Texans during an emergency. Why is our grid up in the air on poles and towers? Why isn't our grid buried underground, where storms can't get to it? IDK... I'm thinking of installing a solar array some wind turbines and a generator/inverter with batteries ASAP because you can almost set your clock by the power outages now (and I'm really getting tired of having to reset all my clocks every time the power goes out here!!!). Plus we haven't had a really strong wind storm here since Hurricane Ike in 2008, and even Hidalgo mentioned in this conference that Ike didn't do THIS much damage and that the closest analog to what happened yesterday was Hurricane Alicia back in 1983! I remember Alicia, I remember a huge oak tree behind my family's house being there one minute then a heavy rain squall came across the field the tree disappeared and once that squall passed what was left of the uprooted tree was laying there with branches ripped off and scattered everywhere! People have gotten too used to drought conditions and not getting regular strong wind storms like Hurricane Alicia or the storms that went thru here yesterday... yeah, keep moving to the Houston area by the millions buying up houses in tightly packed subdivisions, and let me know how well that works out for y'all when a Cat 4 or stronger hurricane plows thru this part of Texas because we are WAY overdue something stronger than Hurricane Ike or Alicia every was! smh! 😕ps. Cloudy and cool outside here right now, but starting tomorrow the sun will be back and the temps will hit the lower 90's with 100% humidity and homes without power (and hence no AC) will quickly become uninhabitable.... then the real misery starts!
