1989 winter storm of Dec 22 Houston was something of rarity I was in high school and pipes bursted. Lowest I think reached 15 deg.

I was born in Houston and remember a night or two in the 20s and it was so exciting to see frozen water and ice. I've since lived in much colder places but this is still fun to watch. Just buckle down and keep those faucets running. A high water bill is better than burst pipes.

Cats are fine in snow, there are thousands of stray cats in montréal and they survive all winter in snow, with temperatures going as low as -30c.

I've seen it 5 times since 1965. The biggest one was Valentines Day 1894...downtown Houston was over 20 inches of snow. Galveston Bay froze over.

@@laurenclark7325 Yes we have humid summers. And we get 100 deg temps some times. Can you Survive +140 -160 deg Boiler rooms. Reinsulating Pipes and Boilers ???? I Survived In the US Navy. At Diego Garcia just south of the Equator. And the Philippines where they can get up to 131 degs.
