I have a DJI 'Air 2' something or other. I never use, as it ALWAYS needs calibrating and updating of the unit, the battery, the controller, agreeing to some updated policy etc. It just sits at home unused, and I'll never use it again. I've ordered one of these and hoping it works out, but I noticed when cycling you had to keep slowing down to avoid running into the drone? I'd be curious what would happen if you didn't slow down?

I slowed down to keep from getting too close in the frame - if you keep your speed consistent, it should track just fine. I am generally riding 10 mph or so.

@@captainjim605 Cheers! It does seem like it will be perfect for my needs. Recently hiked the Menalon Trail in Greece and this would have been perfect. I didn't bother to take my DJI, for reasons already mentioned...

​@@bigglyguy8429that's because the mini 2 was a old dji drone, dji mini 4 doesn't need to be calibrated all the time same as the mini 3pro... But the hover is more compact so I see why one would like it

@@Natsukashii1111 I was referring to my Mavic Air. I did indeed buy one of these and love it! It's in my little shoulder bag everywhere I go. It did get me back into drone stuff, so have recently got a Mini 3 Pro, with the goggles and RC2 stuff, for FPV and without the hassle of connection my phone etc.

I just bought myself one. Can I ask what would happen if the drone gone beyond the allowed distance/height? I watched other KZbin videos, a few users said that if the drone is at maximum distance, it gets disconnected from the phone and we can't control it to come back to where we are. May need to go recover it, and it doesn't take command from the phone to land etc... If that's true, it's very scary.

I can't give you any advice with that, since I use mine within the maximum distance. Never had an issue. It hasn't been scary at all with my usage.

It simply stops when it reaches its maximum height / distance when in manual. You then decide with the controls where to go next. It can’t fly beyond the preset maximums.

Can this thing fly over water or does it need solid ground below it?

Needs solid ground it can see, so it knows where it has moved to. Water changes and will confuse it completely.

The user info tells you to NOT use it over water. Or in the dark. Or with greatly varying heights (as in over a cliff). Or over crowds. I go by that and have had no issues.
