I visited that war memorial in Seoul few years ago. Seeing the monument and our Philippine flag waving side by side with the most powerful military forces during that time, awesome. And the feeling that we were able to help our South Korean neighbours….I felt goosebumps and makes me proud as a Filipino.

hahaha !! actually according to my father who was one of member of 10th BCT, they had no choice but to fight to death, because they were surrounded on all sides, they have no place to run to. and correction about the enemy numbers, they were around hundred thousand but force to retreat when they saw that they were being massacred by a 700 filipino soldiers, enemy dead around 40,thousand base on actual body count. vs. filipino soldiers casualty 114

that is literally true, former president fidel ramos was a young a lieutenant back in the days of korean war, he was a former recon platoon leader during that time.. he was also graduated at USMA (westpoint) and the founder and the first commanding officer of the special forces regiment (airborne) of the philippine army..

cadet private first class from the philippines here one reason why we have soldiers who are tough is the simple fact that we have rebels down south and we keep fighting them, we also train americans for jungle warfare which gives us a sense of pride and that inspires us to fight harder

Ken Colvin this is why the Philippine Flag is one of the most unique flag in the world. It was really designed like that for us to know if our country is currently or still in war. Back in the days our country wasn’t always at peace since alot of countries were tryna invade ours so by flipping our flag upside down we can quickly recognize if we’re at war or not, if we’re safe or not.
