In Brazil, the consumption of aloe vera is prohibited. Authorities say there is no research that says aloe vera is safe for human consumption...

One question remaining: Wouldn't it be absolutely intuitive to install some kind of bigger movable mobile sunroof as a protection against direct sunrays for the exhausted field workers? Would help against rain too and may even allow to add some kind of airconditioning while being mechanically not too complex to build. But maybe I dream too much, its easier to just let your workers die young and hire some cheap new ones 🤔
@ChrisM-qo1jc9 ай бұрын
Airconditioner, what are you on about? You want optimal conditions for the plants, otherwise what's the point of it all? The workers are comfortable but what good is that if the plants are all dead and there's nothing to harvest?

It would have been nice if they could have named some products that we're legit.

Forever Living company is the one that's featured here.. They are an incredible company that has quite a range of different aloe vera products, but their price might be a bit on the costlier side.. Worth considering though

I understand the fda doesn’t regulate aloe. But I still thought it was illegal to false advertise. (Being the ones that say “contains aloe” without actually having it).

Damn, this is like some modern day slavery. Clearing the people’s native land / ecosystem on which people used to live freeing and having them relying on the monetary $ystem since all their resources are now gone just to grow one crop.

...Wtf are you rambling about? It's private farm land you muppet.

Slavery ? That’s a job my guy and somebody has to do it. You not getting wiped you getting pay. 🤦🏻♂️

"They're getting paid." These people work at this place and make about $350 a month. Each of these workers processes about 3,500 pieces, which makes about 269 gallons (13 per gallon). The company they sell the aloe to is called Forever Living and the cheapest form of this aloe they sell is in a juice bottle for about $21 dollars per liter, 3.78 liters per gallon comes to about $80 dollars. So 269 gallons x $80 = $21,500 per worker per day, and they get $350 a month. Sometimes a whip is not necessary. The fear of losing their jobs in a country where there's not a lot of options, can be more taming than a whip.
