I grew up in Carver, MA. If you look at a google earth image, it really is a town full of cranberry bogs. During the winter they fill them so that the freeze won't get to the berries. For a kid, this just meant you had hundreds of outdoor skating rinks to choose from. And if you fell through the ice, you were never more than 1-3' deep in water. It is also a farmer cooperative, so each farmer owns a part of the company. They mainly grow well in the northeast because the ground is sandy and acidic. And those pumps that suck up the cranberries also occasionally suck up a frog or two. They get caught in the screen, but unfortunately, the constant high pressure rush of water and cranberries usually doesn't end well for the frog.

seems like a nice place to live. growing and living in tropical area makes me wonder what snow and ice skating on an actual frozen lake feels like. tho idk if i'll survive since my hometown usual temperature is 16 celsius degree (60.8 fahrenheit) and i sneezed like crazy, lel.

Every fall the sides of the road leading up to the facility were bright red with cranberries that had fallen off the trucks. If we'd had a mind to, we could've picked up free cranberries, but we never thought of it. Middleboro carries the moniker, "The cranberry capital of the world." Why is the company named Ocean Spray? Just wondering.
@aphexxed49174 жыл бұрын
Carver is in Plymouth County and only about 20 minutes away from Plymouth beaches, so it probably has to do with the proximity to the ocean

Did I miss something because they said “we flood the ponds with about a foot of water” then they proceed to show them walking almost waist deep in water
@eli67974 жыл бұрын
they showed the 1 foot when they use the machine to separate the berries from the plant then they filled it more to start the extraction process which is the waist deep scenes

It would have been nice to also mention other bogs too. Most people wouldn’t know that Wisconsin is the largest producer of cranberries.

The “Bog People” is a much more interesting story. I learned about “The Bog People” during undergraduate school and couldn’t sleep for weeks terrified 😱 Good luck. 🍀 If you don’t know about The Bog People and you search for it - I’m sorry for your nightmares and ruining your dreams. Forever.

Uh, the phrase "good vibes" and the expression "bring some good vibes" come from the '60s. It is boomer talk. LMAO at your ignorance and stupidity.

Ah yes, Nerval1855, everyone who did not know that is very stupid and ignorant. You know, probably 95% of people who are younger than boomers.
